I thought there was still remaining debt payments for Mount Davis at the Oakland stadium that the city built for Al to keep him happy.

I believe that the City still owes money for the improvements. It was built so as to lure Al Davis away from keeping his team in Los Angeles.

It will be interesting to see what commitment in years that the team gave to the city ... on the other hand, the City of Oakland failed to reach an agreement for a new stadium, there has to be some thresh hold as to how much culpability rests on the team if the City is attempting to hold them hostage and not willing to work out a reasonable deal.

Haven't they already kicked the Raiders out for next year?

I think you should get all your PSL money back. If that's what the suit involves I hope it goes on.

St. Loser Fan wrote:In my book all Stan needs to do is
1) drop the claim to buy Rams Park for $1.
2) repay St. Louis for some/most of the money we spent on the North Riverfront stadium proposal. At bare minimum he should pay for the two rounds of redesigns the Rams requested.

Please elaborate on the "two rounds of redesigns".

I think he means the Rams supposedly showing interest initially to the point that they engaged and asked for modifications to what St. Louis was proposing.

What IS the feeling from St. Louis fans? There must be some who still root for the Rams but is the general feeling one of bitterness still? I know it was bittersweet for me when the GSOT was going to the Super Bowl but I was still fully rooting for and happy that the Rams were there.

There were two rounds of design changes at the request of the Rams. The first were appearance things like the lights, video screen/ scoreboard and other minor things. The second round was heavier duty like the parking garages, loading docks, fan entries etc.

Both of these changes required the Peacock group to throw a bunch of money at Populous/hOK Sport for rush work because they thought this meant the Rams were interested.

I infer that you have little love for Kroenke and I don't really begrudge you. I'll hate Georgia forever but I know many St. Louisans actually like her. Perspective makes a difference.

But, I was talking to my dad about Kroenke and trying to recap some things for him and my memory of events is that Kroenke wanted to do in St. Louis what he is now doing in Inglewood. That he made some kind of attempt to buy up the north end of St. Louis and make it into a sports and entertainment mecca of some kind. But St. Louis balked because it wanted to share in the profits and refused to give him control.

I'm paraphrasing but do you recall it that way? If so, why would you direct your angst toward Kroenke instead of "St. Louis"?

Stan was never involved with either of the proposals that were floated for the area north of the Edward Jones Tomb.

The first was in the mid 2000's and collapsed with the Great Recession.

The second was from a guy named Paul McKee. If you want more homework here are some articles about him.

Stan never proposed anything by the Dome, so how could the city demand profits and control?

(The only thing the city did with Stan was ask if he was interested in building one of his Wal Mart/Sams strip plazas about 3 miles away by the Saint Louis University campus. IIRC this happened 2008/2009 right as the Great Recession slammed the economy and Stan said no. In the end it's where the IKEA was built.)
