As much as we would like to block it out of our memory, the Rams uniform was unchanged from the last season in St.Louis in 2015 to their first season in LA in 2016. They should have applied to have an emergency special circumstance change for the 2016 season.

Last year’s changes were a huge improvement Minimizing the gold on the away white uniforms is good, however, when they are forced to wear the home blue jerseys it looks bad. The Dallas game was an abomination, the white pants at Jacksonville did improve the look but it was like putting lipstick on a pig.

your previous post sounded like you felt last year's unis were a reminder of the dismal losing, which i didn't get?

if you want to talk about 2016, and say they shouldn't have sported those unis because of the bad stretch, i can understand that point of view, but they stunk in the ferragamo's for 5 years straight before moving to st. louis and didn't make a change, and continued to stink in the ferragamo's for another four years in st. louis but still didn't change.

anyway, it seems the rams had three choices: stay the course with the st. louis unis until the new stadium move-in (which seems to have been their original plan), debut their new unis in 2016 (wouldn't that have fueled the "they had no intention of staying in st. louis" fire) and move into the stadium with these new unis, or plan for two sets of new unis, one for the l.a. debut, and one for the new stadium debut.

but 2016 was such a disaster, more losing, a flat-out laughable offense, an in-season fired hc, four measly wins, that the rams brain trust probably thought they had to do something, on top kicking fish to the curb. so the gave the rams blue and whites, as much as they could given league rules.

Boom

And THAT is where the Rams argument of "The NFL won let us" loses its steam IMO

And have the NFL donate the money to a charity as someone suggested earlier. Maybe something involving brain injuries.

It’s a Win, Win, Win - Like the Rams playoff and Super Bowl run this year.

Have other teams run into these kinds of problems trying to switch uniforms? I don't recall ever hearing of any.

If you're insinuating that the Rams are lying, wouldn't you think the league would come out and say that isn't true? The idea of them lying seems pretty thin to me. And the idea that they think they could get away with such lies is even thinner.

The Rams have been using the league('s rules) as a scapegoat for why they can't make the changes to the uniforms that the fans keep clamoring for. It's just an excuse since they didn't have any problems making changes from 2000 through 2016. The rules seem clear and uncomplicated but the Rams are trying to blame the league for not being able to change.

That's a total misrepresentation of the situation.

The Rams know the rules and are following them to re-brand with new uniforms when the new stadium opens (or maybe 2019).

The Rams also know the rules say you can only wear throwbacks twice a year but have asked the league to grant them an exception. So far the league has said no.

Yet somehow you see a scandal...

I see it as the Rams continually having an excuse when they only have themselves to blame.

This year, it's that the league won't let them wear throwbacks more than twice per year. Last year it was that they didn't realize the fans wanted the throwbacks as the primary uniform. The year before was because the league requires a 2 year lead time to make any changes.

Every year it's a new excuse and the bottom line is that Rams fans don't get to watch their team in the uniforms they like best.
