Not in denial simply pointing out that the Rams have options. I still think they will grab an edge but perhaps not as early as some might hope. Right now LT IMO is their biggest need next to a QB. Williams is a great signing at CB but he's just a bandaid. They are painfully thin in the secondary and they also have an immediate need at ILB.

I don't think I'm in denial in the least. Just pointing out that the Rams have a lot of ways to go with their top 4 picks. Defense is still their weakest unit next to STs.

Who knows but again, i won't be at all surprised if the Rams aren't particularly interested...

I respectfully disagree. Even with AD retiring, which the FO knew, this team is trying to win SBs now and 2025. So QB and LT are not their biggest needs under that scenario. Long term, sure. But they are not investing cap or draft capital on either right now, IMO. They will be very young on D with some bargain vets added. They will draft who they believe are “NFL ready now” players at every pick they have this draft. They are not looking to specifically build for the future. Well, they are by almost happenstance on D just based on everyone being so young. They are building to win now. BC they have the QB, skill positions, and OL to win now.

I wish we could have done this instead of JG.

I know a lot of people feel this way but Rams clearly have a type of QB they like and it's one who can run McVay's offense as it currently is. Especially as a backup, you don't want to have to run a whole different offense if #2 has to come in.

Will be interesting to see who/if the 3rd QB will be. We know they generally have 4 in camp and keep 3 during the season (one on PS). But, of course, there are no rules so could be anything.

For LT, i could see them drafting one in the 1st round. That's a position where having someone elite for many years is highly valuable. If Rams think they have a chance to get one, i think it would be an option...

How did they phrase their goal for backup QB? I know they said "vet". Garappolo has been around 8 or 9 years. Fields 3? If they added 'with some success' Fields doesn't fit that. Jimmy G has watched Brady, been successful with Shanahan and a disaster with the Raiders. He's not the first with LV. Now he gets some Stafford/McVay tuteledge. I'm more confident he could fill in than Fields. So far he seems like a guy with all the physical tools who just can't synch it up with the mental. At least JG has played in (and won) big games. We seemed to have built and OL to run the ball. Garappolo has been successful with a good run game. So, if #9 misses considerable time, we're less fooked than we were with any #2 since McVay has been here. And still we pray #9 stays healthy and at his best.

I get it though, imagine being able to attack teams with Stafford and/or Fields. That would be crazy but you'd need someone who could do Stafford's role if he got hurt and that's probably not Fields...
