I could be wrong but i think the X's and O's have passed Jeff Fisher by. The Rams defense was good because he hired Gregg William and let him do his thing. I don't see Fisher as coordinator.

If he gets back in the game, i think it's as a HC who hires a real OC. But i think it's a lot more likely he's done...

Honestly I am not sure of that criteria but if there was a coordinator who was a head coach several times and always ended up as a coordinator we would have that guy in Wade Phillips. I have always liked Wade and really have always felt for him he has never been able to make it as a head coach.

I'm almost positive that there hasn't been. There's only 15 head coaches that have coached 20+ years. I'm pretty sure none of the coaches below have done that.

Halas, Lambeau, Shula, Laundry, Brown, Owen, Noll, Reeves, Knox, Belichick, Fisher, Shottenheimer, Ewbank, Shanahan, and Coughlin.

We do have June Jones who went from being a head coach in the NFL to a head coach in college then in 2016 took a job as a offensive coordinator for a high school. Not the same but only guy I can think of who spent a good number of years as a HC and then became a OC.

Lol.
He's the athletic director at the high school who's trying to help his friend's kid get a D1 scholarship.
In any event I was referring to NFL head coaches...

Given a five year chance with a losing record. What desperate team would give him another chance?

We must remember, St Louis was not a "go to" opportunity to begin with. We really don't know what happened with his chance with Miami at that time. He may have chased the money. Which turned out not to be a good Rams investment.

I do wish Fish the best. He was very entertaining at times.
