The entire strength of the Niners is being a winning team in spite of who is at QB.

That weakness is now exposed.

I’m not sure what he is yet.

I do know he’s under 6’1”, small frame, slow, with a pop gun arm. Otherwise he’s an MVP candidate.

I got a feeling if Darnold ever got a fair shot in that offense, Purdy wouldn’t get the job back.

Sure, but he's been "adequate" in just 2 games this season, vs Seattle and the Rams.

21-30 for 209 1-1 vs Seattle; 17-25 for 206 0-0 vs the Rams

The other 13 games he's either been near flawless or terrible. They are 2-4 when he throws an interception. 9-0 when he doesn't. He's a game manager with a stellar surrounding cast that masks his drawbacks. If a defense can take a couple of them away....and that's no easy task....or rattle him.....a little easier.....he can't win a game on ability alone.

O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D. A Colt McCoy with better weapons in a better system.

FWIW, the only 2 games he hasn't had a TD pass are vs the Rams and Baltimore

Surround him with superheroes and no pressure and he looks wonderful.

Not all QBs are that good, so he is better than average. But he's no MVP quality QB.
