If we learned anything from the relocation process mess, it's that the league is less of a single entity and more of a loose collection of independent owners. Stan does what's good for Stan. I think this was his own decision, not the result of being asked to fall on any swords.

So Stan screwed St Louis fans out of the $24 mill of value left on their PSLs.... In the meantime Stan's net worth increased by $2.4 billion.

That's 1% ... He might get chicks for free ...but at least he didn't get money for nothing.

I wonder what would have happened if he publicly offered the deal at the same time he purchased the property for the new stadium?

I happen to think St Louis is an awesome city, and deserves an NFL team of their own. Wouldn't be a game changer, but I think the more support the locals throw the XFL team, the better look it gives them when they next shot rolls around.
And it will happen. Expansion will happen again

Cue @St. Loser Fan to poo poo my post.....

It will be interesting to see which American pro league is the first to go past 32 teams.

Ooh that was a solid reverse jinx dieter. Very effective, I will have to remember that. Now I'm sure St. Loser fan will say something really intelligent ...

As a SSL holder at the new stadium I am happy that the PSL holders from St. Louis and Stan came to an agreement. It may set precedent in case the Rams move out of the new stadium before 50 years (most likely won't happen but I never say never).

I know I would be pissed if I paid for something that was supposed to around for at least 50 year and was not around for the entire 50 years (with or without the fine print).

So good for the St. Louis PSL holders hopefully we won't have to go through that.

Aren't the new SSLs at Inglewood actually 40 year interest free loans to the Rams and you get your original value back in 2060? That's probably how the other cities will roll when the next wave of stadiums get built.

I'm fairly sure that it is 50 years. The rest is correct no interest.

I asked my rep what happens if the Rams get a new stadium in 30 years and she said the SSL would be good at the new stadium. Sounded impossible to me but that's what she said.

And remember, we get our SSL money back in 50 years, so there's that...

I'm not sure what interest rate to use but $1,000 dollars 50 years from now at 8% (historical return on S&P) is worth about $20 in today's dollars which is like getting 2% of your money back.

OTOH, if you go with a more conservative rate like 2% that $1,000 dollars 50 years from now is worth $370 in today's dollars so you could argue you're getting a significant amount of your money back, like 37%...
