I feel sorry for the guys who hold onto Goff's Anchor of a Contract as a positive Goff trait.

ramsman34 wrote:Has anyone considered that the competition for Goff is already in the roster? MCV really seemed enamored with Wolford. And, they are developing Perkins who is also more mobile than Goff. Kyle Trask/Florida would be available 2nd/3rd round if they wanted to add a rookie to the room/competition. Or, try to trade up higher in the 2nd to get Mac Jones should he be available.

I think Goff beats any and all of them in camp for the starting job.

If MCV is really done with Goff, let’s see how bad dads Snead really is, and how heavy the price, and go get Watson. Then, how shrewd he is in dealing Goff which would have to happen cap wise if they get Watson. Perhaps Goff, this year’s 2 and next year’s 2 could get that deal done if Watson really wants out that badly.

It doesn't have to be Watson. Stafford would be a high quality acquisition.

"Farr said Goff needs to be in there now working his tail off. MJD said the locker room isn’t happy when a guy is the highest paid player and he’s not playing up to his contract and they’re making a fraction of that. "

For those of you that have never been in a locker room this is gospel. I was never a professional player but this even happens on amateur teams of any sport.

Right... its gospel, or cliche, or so commonplace that an commentator can throw out that suggestion even if he knows virtually nothing about what is actually going on in the Rams' locker room.

Sounds like you've never been in a locker room. Sounds exactly like that...really.

Actually, it sounds more like someone has a preconceived opinion and will do anything to discredit anyone who disputes it.

Farr and MJD are ex-players who also have strong connections to the Rams locker room and coaches. They also work for the Rams, so they would never throw out statements like that if the Rams weren't ok with it.

Aw c'mon max. I'm SURE Avenger has tighter connections to the Rams locker room and players than ex NFL players and Local guys Farr and MJD.

Sounds like you missed my point entirely. Sounds exactly like that... really.

Look... if you guys want to believe that columnists and color commentators simply report inside information without spin or hype, and that their words can always be taken at face value, that's your choice.

I've seen way too many examples of people citing to inside sources only to be proven 100% wrong to not take these things with a grain of salt.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension.

I never said that what is being reported is false. I also don't assume its 100% true merely because of statements of people with "connections."

You defer to folks like this. I don't. I want concrete evidence. Maybe someday you'll get the difference.
They also work for the Rams, so they would never throw out statements like that if the Rams weren't ok with it.

If the Rams control their content, why would you trust that they are anything more than mouthpieces for whatever the team wants to portray publicly? Either they are investigative journalists with sources, or they're part of the Rams marketing team. They can't be both.

Well, we can't all have max's sources or bremillard's extensive expertise, but I do what I can. 8-)
