I'll be interested to see if anyone studies the all-22 view of the game. Goff sure seemed like he wasn't going through progressions very well. Does he come off of his first read to other options? That first fumble to Reynolds that went out of bounds was just a panic throw and it didn't seem to get much better the rest of the game.

He needs a lot of time and a clean pocket. He knows he has neither. And he panics and plays terribly. That was the game today and we were in it till the end regardless. Just a frustratingly mediocre offense and a decent defense. It enough to do anything this season.

Can’t put it all on Goff... didn’t Bortles get a play this time?

But we had an intact and good OLine in the SB and still produced next to nothing. There has to be something else going on here. Not blaming it on Goff, necessarily.

Gotta get rid of the ball quicker. Coach might need to come up with a few plays that help.

It's baffling how slow McVay has been to adjust. Goff and the mid/deep passing game is not functioning right now. They don't take deep shots and barely have enough time for the mid range chunk plays.

They do have a stable of running backs and TE's that have progressed but they don't or won't incorporate more varied personnel to utilize them. I don't recall seeing them even trying to run 2 back sets or getting the RB's involved in creative ways. If pass pro is such an issue they could also go big with two TE's and two RB's. They could also commit to the run a little more.

Real running game stuff though, not the trick 'em, cutesy crap. No one is falling for it anymore. Whether it garners immediate results or takes some time, they need to approach the game like they did vs. Dallas in the playoffs last year.

Granted, they would need to tailor the rushing game to the o-linemen on hand but whatever scheme suits their skills plus a commitment to pounding the ball needs to be established. Goff has no hope otherwise. This team and scheme are not set up to beat defenses when they know the pass is coming.

Of course, this season is basically over anyway so it doesn't really matter but it would be nice to see them do what they should be doing the remainder of the season.

The line is bad but McVay isn’t coaching for shit either and Gurley is washed too. Goff sucks and put it all together and you get the shit burger that was served yesterday

Geeze, what would of happened on this site if Goff was out for the game and Bortles rallied us to a win?
