Die hard Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls fan Tom Morello looks to have jumped on the LA Rams bandwagon.

Morello has been a Rams fan a loooong time - since the first R.A.M album at least.

We used to be yellow and red. I remember seeing old helmets, that were yellow with red horns.

actually they were red helmets with yellow horns, it was a 1-year deal, 1949. here's a timeline:

1941-1946: rams sport yellow leather helmets
1947: rams switch to navy leather helmets.
1948: fred gehrke paints yellow horns on the navy leather helmets.

1949: rams switch to riddell plastic helmets - riddell also takes over horn duties from gehrke and uses their in-house stock horn stencil, the same stencil riddell used for college and high school teams at the time, which varied significantly from gehrke's original design/shape. the new plastic riddell helmets were also painted red with yellow horns, accounts vary re the reason for the color change, it was the rams first color change in 10 years (from navy/yellow). some attribute the change to hc shaughnessy wanting a red scheme, but according to the hof that has never been confirmed.

1950: rams return to navy helmets and yellow horns. riddell creates a custom horn stencil for rams that mirrors gehrke's original design, the riddell stock stencil is no longer used. riddell also customizes other areas of the helmet specifically for the rams to accommodate gehrke's original horn design, most notably using transparent vinyl on the outside of the helmet shell, instead of leather, for the wrap around jaw pads so that the full horn would be visible.

Screw it. Let's go black on white with electric blue accents! 2 Helmets; black with white and electric blue horns, white with black and electric blue horns. Yes, two-tone horns. Why not - no one is gonna be totally happy anyway so what the hell?
