I don't know whether anyone has mentioned that Sean McVay, if hired here, presumably would have the inside track on persuading DeSean Jackson, of Long Beach and Cal, to come along as well. That combo would generate considerable buzz, with Jackson "coming home" and McVay becoming the youngest head coach in the league's history. Buzz is desperately needed, with the Rams planning to sell PSLs in May and June. A mere $1,000 increase in the average price of a PSL would yield the team an additional $70 million. San Francisco's SBL situation has been entirely negative recently, with what appear to be very serious discounts on those that do sell on the secondary market. That, on top of the lamentable season just concluded, will be a drag on sales here. The Rams are considering apportioning some PSL sales over three years with no interest, as they should. But they need to generate maximum fan interest, soon. It's true that the media are making too much of McVay's ancestral association with a winning program. But symbol and association are the building blocks of human thought. McVay AND Jackson would be a good sell here, I suspect.
