Seattle could have lost and stayed alive if the Rams lost to AZ. The Rams would've still be alive next week no matter what happened this week.

But both won which brought SOV into play and now if Washington wins or ties, Rams have clinched the NFC West and Seattle has been eliminated from the playoffs.

I guess since it affected the Rams, the Vikings game had to be stressful at the end...

A bit stressful, yes.

Strangely, I’m a lot looser for this Washington game. I know it’s over.

So we'd be clinched tonight and lose the tiebreaker with TB for seeding if we lose next week. Is the 3 seed worth playing starters for? #3 would play WAS or GB (WAS has DAL next week) and #4 would play loser of the DET vs. MIN game. I would...not only for a better matchup but trying to get the offense out of its funk.

IIRC, same scenario existed in 2017 with 3 and 4 seeds undecided, and McVay passed on playing starters and we lost. But NO lost to a 4-11 TB team, so we got the 3 anyway.

#2 gets Washington or Green Bay
#3 gets Washington or Green Bay
#4 gets Detroit or Minnesota

Does it matter that much?

I meant they both saw these as must win games not knowing if the Rams would win or lose. I’ll let the NFL make the announcements but if Wash wins I think we’re in.

Rams won't think it does.

Personally, I'd rather put off DET or MIN. Because one of these will be true:

Lions - 14 and 1 since Week 2 and have scored under 30 three times since Week 3 (26, 24, 23).

Min - 10 game win streak having scored 23, 30, 23, 42, 30, 27, and 27 in their last 8 before next weekend.

One could argue that better to get them at home, but DET will take over Sofi...MIN? I'm uncertain if they travel.

And if you like checklists and year over year - Win the division (check over last year), get 11 wins and win a playoff game would two more.

Right now ATL is taking it to Washington. Doesn’t look like we’re clinching tonight. And probably not this week.

If Washington and SF both lose this week, then all we need next week is one of 9 teams winning:

SF over AZ
Minnesota over Detroit
GB over CHI
KC over Denver
Jets over Miami
Buffalo over NE
LV over chargers
Panthers over ATL
Saints over TB

The odds are astronomically in our favor.

I just wonder if ALL those games would be played on Sunday with Rams V Seahawks on Saturday. So the game truly matters.

wow. With the exception of GB over Chicago or Buffalo over NE I don’t even see another gimme. I saw the three games today as our best bets. Hopefully Wash. can come back
