Would help to have Earnest Jones damn wish we could’ve got something done. They ran right up us up the middle.

Jones would not have made a difference. He consistently has struggled with interior runs. It's why they didn't want to pay high cap for a limited player. I think they hoped Brown would step up but IMO he's not what they need.

The Rams signed Gallimore who did more in limited snaps as a newcomer than Brown. Shula realized that if he wants to play a 5 man DL he needs a dominating force at NT. Once Gallimore has a chance to learn the system he could be closer to what the Ram's want at NT.

The majority of the game they seemed to settle on a 4 man DL with Verse, Fiske, Turner and Young. Verse and Fiske need experience so they will be a work in progress for a few games. They struggled in OT simply because they were tired. Remember they didn't play at all during TC only practiced. Until OT the DL held it's own against a very good OL. By November this group if they stay healthy will be what was expected.

With only a few exceptions the secondary held up well. Durant especially showed how good he can be. His problem with Morris was exactly what I've always told people it was schematic, i.e. how Morris played him not lack of talent. If he continues to play well he may keep the starter position opposite White.

Lake is a legit talent who plays both nickel and safety. With Curl and JJ Shula has the luxury of playing Lake in the box as a nickel.

Reader and Hummel are a decent pair of ILBs but Hummel and Speights will be a far better pairing next year. Reader is MIKE because of his experience but I see Speights as being the MIKE next year.

It was refreshing not to be worrying about the PK. Had McVay used him just that one 4th down the Rams win in regulation.

Despite the loss this team showed it is talented and deep even on the OL. Limmer is as good as I expected even as a rookie. It's why I see him as their starting C next year with Avila staying at LG.

Because of the injuries on the OL it really derailed the Ram run game. I see them returning to a balanced attack next week.

I also expect to see Gallimore getting more snaps over Brown. Gallimore is a better run defender than Brown and the Cards play run first with Murray's RPO. Shut down their run game and you beat the Cards because Murray still can't carry the team like a franchise QB should. I see Murray being replaced in 2025 or 2026 probably via trade possibly to Philly.

Despite the loss there is a lot for Ram fans to look forward to. They went toe to toe with a presumed SB contender and except for injuries and a questionable 4th down decision by Sean they would have won. Show me another team that could have that many injured players on the roster and take the Lions to OT.

Revenge will be sweet if the Rams meet Detroit in the NFC Championship game and knock them out of the Super Bowl. The Niners know that feeling all too well.

The Rams played good enough to win and bad enough to lose. Football can be strange that way. In the end the D ran out of gas. If the OT coin toss goes our way the Rams could have been the team celebrating. Again it's the injuries already but every NFL team has them. Depth is important to any major playoff run.

My take,

Very proud of the effort. Down to 4th OT and losing Puka and Avila early on.

Stafford is a freaking wizard, made some throws that no other QB would have completed, I mean none! He single handily willed us back.

Overall great effort on defense, I thought we were supposed to suck after AD?? Hopefully Fiske/Verse can eat more against other o-lines...

If only Durant holds onto that INT.
If only Acuri doesnt screw us multiple times. Blame McVay some as dont get so cute at the 1.
If Kupp holds to that pass.

But again to be in that game was pretty incredible.

And oh yeah Kam Kitchens you are on my s list. What a dumbass error you made and that you are smiling about it after. You gifted them the FG you asshat.

That would be great news at this point. I was complaining about the early bye, we that should really help this team this year. Get Avila back after the bye hopefully.

From Jourdan:

The play Stafford most wanted back? A third-and-10 pass from the Rams’ own 22-yard line that he intended for Kupp but sailed off-target, that would have taken the game to the two-minute warning with the 3-point lead.

“I know he’s going to feel like he’s going to make every throw,” Kupp said. “It’s tough. We had a route on, and the DB went to undercut and I adjusted to cut off the undercut and try to guarantee the throw. He saw the undercut and tried to throw it high. It was one of those situations where we’re both making the right decision, it just wasn’t the same decision.”

Stafford walked to the sideline afterward with his hands clasped over the top of his helmet. It was the only sign during the entire game that Stafford was upset — and it was at himself.

“Yeah, that was the game, had a chance to win it,” said Stafford. “Every game, there’s plays you want back. That is definitely one of them. I like to think that I can hit that throw a bunch of times in a row.”

Spot on, the Kyler Murray stuff I don’t care about notwithstanding. lol. Interesting observation on Gallimore. Something to keep an eye on for sure.

I will add, Losing Nacua sucks but there are quality WRs that can pick up the slack. If Avila is out for a while and he will likely will miss 3-6 weeks, we should be ok with J Jax and Limmer. LT is a major problem and if Dotson is down for an extended period, Bruss will be tested for sure. He looked really good in the one camp practice where I watched him and watched him a lot.
