Maybe the Rams see an edge in the draft they think can be elite right away??

Josh Uche/Pats is still available as well.

Given today's signings, this is now what I believe, too.

Probably pretty close. Although, Hunter is a bit older with more mileage He might also take a discount with a chance to get a ring. The Rams are much closer than the Giants to raising the Lombardi IMO.

Down to Young and Clowney after 2 days. I'll hope for a trade. An older vet would probably add more than a rookie, unless they trade way up.

Clowney was good this year.

Don’t rule out a trade for Mack, Bosa, Reddick, and there are a few others. Unless the Rams, who know a lot more than we do, are really comfortable with the current roster edge players (I say unlikely). A vet is coming. It just might not be right away.

I think they're in their patient, wait-them-out phase of free agency and trades. The Eagles are set to take a cap hit for Reddick of 21.8 mil and they told him he could seek a trade. If they trade (or release him....fahgettaboutit) prior to June 1, it's 20 mil in dead money and a 1 mil cap savings. If they trade him post June 1, it's 5.8 mil dead money, 16 mil cap savings. There's no rush. And I'd think, that's fine with them (maybe not him) because they have time to renegotiate a deal or fine a willing partner. Anybody trading for him gets 1 year at 14.8 mil. That's a good deal. He'll be 30 in September.

Mack on the other hand, has a 38 mil cap hit in 2024. If the Chargers trade him it's a 15 mil cap him but 23 mil cap savings. He's 33. It's 1 year at 17 mil (without an extension).

Mack or Reddick? Bosa? I don't think we have a chance do we? He's only 28 and has a 15 and 17 mil salary the next 2 years. But it's a 22 cap hit / 14 mil savings. And we know, teams can recover from cap hits. But do we really want a guy who's played 2 full seasons (3 less than 10 GP) in the last 6? Aren't we trying to get rid of a player like that?

Draft another stud. If we get Mack or Reddick it shouldn't hurt.
