I'm happy with the results even after the lost.

We are not far behind from being a top team,

We are a playoff team and will get better as the season comes along.

As my assessment in where our team stands, I think I nailed it.

I'm excited about our OL,
If Noteboom did not get injured,
We were keeping Stafford clean against a very great defense.

As for the game,
We didn't take advantage in the end of the 2nd qtr, when we went up 7,
our defense let the 9ers tied the game before the half.

As for our DL, we need to set the edge better on the run game.
and just gave up that long run by CM, but besides that,
we played pretty good against the run.

ON passing downs, we need to get more pressure.

But what killed us, was that first INT,
It wasn't Stafford fault on that pass,
Williams needed to catch that ball.
It seemed like he wanted to run first before catching it.

He will learn this week,
in catching the rock first before making the next move.

I'm not happy with the lost,
But I'm happy with what I saw from this team as a whole showing against a top playoff team.

As I stated, we will make the playoffs.

Just to add,
Based off the game book,
The OL provided Stafford with no sacks and no QB hits in the first half.

After Noteboom when down early in the 3rd qtr,
and was replace with Anchrum,
thats where the 9ers started to put some pressure on Stafford,
with 1 sack and 6 QB hits in the second half, causing two INTs,
one that was Williams fault for dropping the pass & bouncing off his hands for an INT.
In which IMO, that change the whole game.

So we have something to look forward to,
because the 9ers have a really good DL,
they have three pro bowlers in that front seven,
DE/Bosa, DT/Hargrave, & MLB/Warner.
and our OL was doing a pretty good job keeping Stafford clean against them.
and opening up holes for our RB.

Indeed. As much as Puka and Tutu and Staff and Williams have been getting the love, this OL has been excellent so far. They are a huge reason the O is playing well.

Yeah, I was in awe of how much time #9 had in the first half!!! He was standing there, moving a bit now and then but he had TIME. When was the last time that happened vs that vaunted SF defense/DL?

OK, it was the 49ers and it IS the dumbest streak in pro sports right now: many games in the streak were just handed to the 49ers and oh, you know, there was that playoff game thing, followed by the Super Bowl thing.

But I'm very encouraged by what I've seen these last two games - they might even be in the mix for the 3rd wild card.

Winnable games that I see: Giants, Commanders, Colts, AZ x2, Seattle, Cleveland, Pittsburgh. Not realistic to think they will sweep that but let's see (counting fingers), that gets you to 9.

I had previously been thinking the MNF at Bengals would be a bloodbath, now I think the Rams could steal one there ..

^ We'll suck up some of the national narrative if we win that one on national TV 1. After the performances in the Seattle and San Francisco games that narrative has already begun to change. For us here too. Suddenly it doesn't seem as hopeless..!

The team is playing hard and showing skill. Stafford is playig well. Just need a little more to get over the top.

I was just hoping that after two Super Bowl trips the 49ers invasion would wane just a little bit.

Niners are among SB favorites and Rams are thought to be rebuilding, definitely not the year for their presence at Sofi to wane...

What did folks here think of McVay's decision to not challenge the semi-fumble at the sideline?

I was surprised he did not at least try it, the game was getting away from him and it would have been a big spark. Given that I did not see an angle that clearly showed whether it had stayed in or not.

Lakers hat and 49ers jersey should be a crime.

The Rams played a very good game. A few mental and physical mistakes, but the Rams where in the game the entire game against what is probably the best team in the NFL right now.

Things I liked..

Niners could'nt get pressure with four which was huge for out o-line. They had to send a 5th and 6th guy which the Rams didnt do as well, also Anchrum missed an assignment, I hope Noteboom isnt out long.

Puka Puka Puka- now just dont run this kid into the ground, hopefully ok. Tutu was good again as well, but appeared to blow a route that killed the drive (Staff got an intentional grounding penalty) and it looked like Tutu could have scored with a good throw.

Overall Defense played well, I thought the refs didnt so them any favors. Again more experience the better this defense will get IMO. Didnt tackle particularly well but still didnt break too much when dealing with being -2 in turnovers. Hopefully the defense can create some on Monday night. Cincy looks beatable but they are 0-2 and going to be desperate for a win, ugh.

Kyren played well too, just have to make that catch, 14 pt swing there. Unfortunately Akers will be gone, who knows what the issue is now.

Things I did not like...

As great as Puka and Tutu have been we need to see way more from Van Jeff. I think the Rams should try and get him going early, seems to make more of an impact there, but stop dropping the ball!! Also he was closest to Kyren on the 4 and 2 plan, he couldnt chip the rusher.

We need to get more consistent pressure on the QB, we let Purdy be way too comfortable, funny smacked later in the game that seems to ruffle him for a series or two.
