Exactly. Have they got calls on Staff? Sure. On AD?? Only every fucking season, off season and at every trade deadline. He wants to retire a Ram. The Rams want him to retire a Ram. A TWO time Super Bowl champion Ram. They will try hard to make that happen this upcoming season but also position themselves to be an absolute force in ‘24.

What Rams fan can complain about that???

Oh and I fuckin love Ramsey and hate to see him go. But I accept the team building/Salary cap/business of the NFL for what it is. Know the system, be expert at working the system, think outside the box and get a little luck along the way. Contend for and Win super bowls. Thank you, Rams. You get how to get it done.

There is a chance we can get one of the three best QBs in next years draft,
1. Caleb Williams
2. Drake Maye
2. Jaxson Dart

I was hoping we could have picked up a first round pick in 2024. If things go as expected, next years CB & S class could potentially be the strongest DB draft class in NFL history

The voices in his head. 🤔

I agree with most of what has already been said. This was about cap space.

The Rams have to be under the cap by Wednesday. I expect a restructure or 2 but it’s clear they’re trying not to push much money into future years.

Whitworth said it best IMO. They took what was offered.

Ramsey, according to reports, went to a desired location. Bonus he got guaranteed money on the back end of his contract.

The Rams got rid of his contract and likely future compensation as well.

When you factor in the Super Bowl win and his contributions, the Rams are still way ahead.

Factor whatever you want, winning the SB puts the Rams way ahead!! This is a team that didn't make a first round pick for 7 straight years and didn't make a 2nd round pick in 3 of them!! Show me another team in history with those draft restraints!!! But they still managed 5 winning seasons during that time, 4 postseason appearances, 2 SB appearances, a Lombardi and whatever happens in year 7!!

Finally, they had to restructure their cap to get under and in the process not only did get under for 2023 but have 50 mil in cap space for 2024. That will change with free agent acquisitions, rookie contracts and any restructures but that will hardly dent that 50 mil. Ahead? Way ahead? Remarkably ahead!!!

At what cost? A 33 yr old ILB, 31 yr old OLB (who many fans thought incompetent as a pass rusher), a 29 yr old CB (who many feel has declined) and 7 guys who never saw the field!!! Yet still there's angst? Yeah, Snead & Co. have failed!!!! :roll2: :arrow2: :idea2: :lol2:

So you are saying that the Rams had a first round pick offered, and they refused it for a third round pick?

JackPMiller wrote:That is a bad trade. A 3rd round pick plus a player, and that's it? Dolphins won that trade easily. We should have gotten a first round pick in 2024.

So you think the Rams will only win 1, maybe 2 games in 2023? Because they traded Jalen Ramsey? I like Jalen, but I think you are over valuing him.

ramman2999 wrote:Ephram Salam seems to be on board with me.

This was a trade for a rebuild. The plan is Caleb Williams. This is L.A.

We all see it’s a Quarterback driven league. You gotta have one. Ant the Chiefs have Mahomes this is the closest guy to Mahomes.

Staffy is great. Super bowl winning Quarterback. Super bowl winning drive. But he ain’t Brady and I don’t think he’s playing til 45.

Get your Patrick Mahomes get Caleb.

We’ll be alright. Once you get Caleb at least you know you have one.

Stafford has two season max. And I haven’t seen him since the neck injury.

Hey I’m not making this up. I don’t want any of these players traded. I didn’t want Jalen Ramsey traded.

1. The they is Michael Lombardi.
This has been all over the NFL. That they are actively shopping Matthew Stafford. Don’t shoot the messenger. I can’t stand Mike Lombardi. I hate all his takes and I think he’s a hot take artist. But he put it out there.

I don’t want Mathew Stafford traded. And don’t think he will be traded. But I was asking what the plan was after the Ramsey trade.

People around NFL the NFL talking heads have been saying the Rams would like to trade Matthew Stafford to get more cap relief. You can hear Michael Lombardi say it. He said it on the Pat Macafee show. His direct quote was bullshit bullshit.

The mark willard bought it up again yesterday. and that’s when Ephram Salam came with the Caleb Williams stuff.

Was it worth it? Fuck yeah we won a super bowl. I would do it again.

I know Detroit wanted Ramsey to.

I said we will see what the Rams do in free agency where this team is going.

I don’t want Kupp traded. Kupp isn’t getting traded anywhere.

Aaron Donald isn’t going anywhere. Aaron Donald isn’t getting traded anywhere. But if the team is going rebuild and is going to want to shed salary. I could see the team going to him saying what the plan is out of respect and moving to help him win before he retires. Not saying that’s the plan yet. But if players keep getting traded I don’t see Aaron Donald staying around for a rebuild.

Lombardi's credibility is pretty sketchy and he's the only one who claimed Stafford is being shopped. Les Snead denied it. Plus Stafford's contract makes it almost impossible.

But it's the Rams so i never quite rule anything out...

OTC on Stafford's contract. If we trade him pre-June 1st, it's a 74 mil dead money hit and a cap savings of negative 54 mil. Virtually the same for a release or a trade pre-June 1 (I think we save $500,000 on a trade). Does that sound like a smart move? We might as well forfeit the season so we can save the air fare and hotel money too. Lombardi is a T-O-O-L.
