If they're going to try and re-tool and rebuild around a guy, why not just do that with Flacco? Granted, he's a middling guy and been on the down trend but is that because he forgot how to play QB or because the offense has been a mess? I really find it hard to believe they're moving forward with Kordell V. 2.

flacco is the poster child for an average at best qb, he's an 80s qb rating guy, and has a career winning record because he's played behind such a solid defense for so many years, they should have cut bait on him years ago... jackson doesn't seem to be the answer either, altho he was 6-1 behind the ravens 2nd ranked defense in offensive points allowed... move up in the draft and try to land someone.

Jeez, I didn't realize Flacco was in his mid-30's already. And we agree that he's a middling QB but I thought that was by design for the Ravens? Not that settling is by design but just having a solid QB in there rather than a liability was fine for them.

I really don't know about the Ravens. They always seem to misfire on offense and I'm not sure why. They don't seem to subscribe to the notion that you need a good QB to win in the NFL but they have tried to go with a more prototypical guy at times with Testaverde, Grbac and Flacco.

All in all, I've never been to impressed with their choices at QB. Banks, Boller, Blake...didn't they also have Kordell? Now Jackson. They just never pick guys I would have picked and yet they have two SB rings, so what do I know?

With as many potential veteran QB's available this off season, I think such a good team would do better to go after one of them. Assuming the draft market for QB's is as weak as it seems. Who would you go after if you were the next Ozzie Newsome?
