I took Packers -7 tonight. Does that make me a vulture? Actually, I think it kinda does ..

LaFleur hates McVay. The Packers will play their best game of the season tonight.

I don't wish injuries on anybody but I'll make an exception with Rodgers. I hope Gaines grabs for him, get a vice grip on that thumb and twists it good. Anything short of that, I think your 7 is safe.

Why does LaFleur hate McVay?

At 7.5 i'd take the Rams on the theory it will be cold and low scoring so GB by 7 is a pretty reasonable scenario...

Okay, so he's human. Sure it was cold but 12 of 21 @ 4.0 an attempt ain't gonna get it done. 111 passing yds (84 minus the sacks), 156 total yards ain't gonna get it done. Particularly when we were running the ball well.....Akers & Williams 14-72, 5.1 ypc. 5 sacks? Not all of that is on the o line.....throw the ball away!! At least 2 or 3 times he had the opportunity to get rid of it rather than take a sack. He had open guys (VJ, Skowronek for 6) he didn't see or didn't lead them. A few balls were behind receivers. Just a really bad night. If he plays this way the next 3 games, we'll have a former #1 pick as our backup in 2023. The downside would be he wasn't good enough to earn a shot elsewhere. But I'd still take him over Wolford or Perkins.

Hate is too strong of a word, I guess. My own opinion, I think McVay spent a few years thinking guys like LaFleur and Shanny were his good ole coaching fraternity buddies, while at their end they are like - nah, we actually never liked you that much, and you're our opponent now.

Yes...the luster is off the chrome. Last week the opponent was pretty weak and that likely had something to do with the heroics. Against a better opponent outside of the friendly (and warm)
environment of SOFI it got pretty ugly. This wasn't just on Baker. The entire offense seemed pretty lethargic besides the occasional spark by Cam. The D was still pretty inspired until the 4th quarter. It will be interesting to see how motivated they are the last 3 games.

When you rack up < 200 yds of Offense versus a middling D like GB, alot of that is on the OL. :idea2:
Yet I see Kudos in this thread for our Ram OL for our robust rushing??!!! :roll2: :arrow2: :lol2:
Seriously???!!! :roll2:

The Packer D, after 14 games, actually SUCKS versus the run! How bad you ask?
Opposing RUSH Yds/Game...148.9 yds/game, good for 29th :| (per ESPN stats)
Opposing RUSH Yds/Carry....5.0 YPC, good for 30th :oops2:
Los Ramos rushed for a total of 72 yards last night. :? Less than HALF of what the GB D AVERAGES per game!
Wow....72 Ram rushing yards...
be still my beating heart!!! :roll2:

The Packer Pass D however is 2nd in the NFL with only 185.9 Passing Yds/Game surrendered.
Packer D is also FIRST IN NFL in fewest First Down Passes allowed (128), but Rushing First Downs is a different story, as GB ranks a leaky 27th in the NFL, with 113 rushing First Downs allowed after 14 games played.

Yeah, yeah....it was all Baker Mayfield's fault last night at Ice Station Zebra!!! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
Hell, throwing around that frozen hogbladder last night, even future HOFer Aaron Rodgers only passed for 207 net passing yards. Meanwhile, the Packers understood that you run the ball in those less-than-ideal polar passing conditions, and rushed for 148 yds and 2 TDs....
because they have OLinemen who can run block! :idea2:

Per my eyeball test:
Our OL played like shit last night against a very very middling GB Defense.
We gave up FIVE sacks to a Packer D that averaged less than 2 sacks per game before last night (24 sacks in 13 games before last night's Packer sackfest). :oops2:

How does Lafleur hate Mcvay? I got that vibe at the end of the game when it looked like they were trying to run up the score. Anybody who had the under was screaming. lol.

Baker would be an exceptional backup for us. Looks like Staffy is giving it another go.

Wouldn’t mind having Baker and A developmental Spencer Ratler. After seeing what Josh Purdys done sign me up.
