Yes, but when they get themselves involved with gambling, like they have, they surrender the appearance of squeaky cleanness. At least to these eyes.

The English Premier League, like the Italian Serie A and several other European soccer leagues, recently instituted a ban on gambling businesses as the primary jersey sponsor. They still allow one of the smaller sleeve patches, just not the primary team sponsor. The fact that they still allow a smaller jersey patch is kind of hypocritical if you ask me, but the fact remains that they are clearly trying to distance themselves from sports gambling (to whatever degree). All those leagues have identified that association as a potential problem area.

Gambling by players gets too close to the sacrosanct "integrity of the game." Even NFL players betting on college games, their thinking is likely, it is easy to consider that those players have inside knowledge akin to insider trading (and a gateway to eventually betting on NFL games).

The whole negative about betting in sports was not the betting itself, but who you were betting with. Betting on yourself, your team? WTF is wrong with that? But losing money to Carmine Chicopezzi could get you in trouble, so you have to 'throw a game'. I get the inside information but the only people that's bad for is DraftKings. I get the shaving points or throwing games too. But my point is, the NFL has no business being in business with gambling. Because that has already affected the integrity of the game....the refs work for the NFL.

Players who bet on NFL games, you can’t fix stupid, ban them.

Players who bet on other sports (even when at an NFL facility), suspend? I think not, unless the NFL stops accepting advertising money from Sports Betting companies comes off as “Do as I say, not as I do”. Can you say hypocrite? Sure, I knew that you could.

Per OTC.com, the Giants had ZERO Comp Picks lined up, hence they had no motivation to wait post-Draft to sign their run-stopper stud A'Shawn Robinson, who I thought was pretty damn good for us.....albeit after his Covid-AWOL deal in 2020.

Some guys here thought I was too-harsh on A'Shawn for that medical-exemption card he played on us in 2020, which Pastoors eventually solved (with money)......

but, in my defense....
at least I never posted that A'Shawn Robinson was just "a Ram JAG who is emminently replaceable", eh! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Once again, you misquote and then punctuate with superfluous emojis.

No misquote.

Back to important stuff, A'Shawn Robinson's NYG deal is "up to $8million" right?

Right now, OTC has Philly getting a Comp 5th for departed Andre Dillard ($9.67M)
and Dallas right next getting a Comp 6th for departed Connor McGovern ($7.45M).

My guess is we end up with 3 X 6th and a 7th for 2024.
....and we know Les Snead loves those 6th Round Picks eh!! 8-)
