I'm hoping that Goff and the Rams can continue to improve, like Brees/Saints and Brady/Patriots, in their QB's 5th year and beyond. If they can do that, this team should win multiple SB's, especially with the defense also peaking in AD's and Ramsey's prime years.

I know, but isn't that what all fans hope/dream? Seriously, in my 45 years of being an avid fan, the Rams have gone 4 times and won only once. So in my next 20-30 years (I don't think I have a chance to live much beyond that), can we please win the SB just 3 times? Please?

Really, tho, I feel like you that the Rams are very close this year, with the running game and defense - I think they can beat anyone, including KC, Buffalo, GB and NO. So let's just do it!

Well some have an agenda and it's pretty clear with what facts they use or imagine like "often struggles".........."perennial 10 win team" surrounding statements like "against good defenses and in the postseason". Just examine those for a second. "often" = a couple of times a season....... "perennial" = twice, (soon to be three).... AND.....as if he had no hand in the Rams success, though it's stated "he deserves credit for a 'variety of things'.......". (I suppose that means things like, being a good guy, staying healthy, handing off to Gurley)

"against good defenses" and "in the postseason"? Most QBs have it a little tougher against good defenses (how'd Rodgers do against Tampa, 1 of 2 good D's he faced this year? 44% comp, 160 yds, 2 Int ) but Goff's problems are against certain defenses which suggests it's more than just a Goff problem...as in gameplan problem; adjustment problem also.

In the postseason, he had a tough game against Atlanta, his first time there and the Superbowl against one of those "certain defenses". But remember, it's a criticism of a guy who, in 2 years under a legit NFL head coach, got his team to the Superbowl with a gutsy, phenominal comeback against the Saints in their place, a perennial black hole for opponents (6-0 in the PS there under Payton before Goff's comeback).

We may wonder, why the agenda? Some opine it's because MM struggled with the constant criticism he took for defending a certain QB who couldn't stay on the field for the Rams and only sniffed the postseason once for a 7-9 team. So he jumps at the opportunity to piss in people's cheerios as a self-satisfying payback of sorts.

Other fans without agendas have 'concerns' and 'worries' for struggles and turnovers. To each their own. We can only wait and see how the 2020 season (and postseason) shakes out.

But 42-18, 2-2 in the postseason, a SB appearance in 3.75 seasons???? In anybody's book (reasonable anybody) that is the epitome of success.

Goff will have to perform *his best* for the Rams to win the Super Bowl, in all likelihood. Not perfect.. not up to some unrealistic ideal... but, he'll have to take care of the ball.

mahomes threw 2 picks and posted a 78.1 qb rating in last year's super bowl win, brady booked a 71.4 qb rating the year before in his super bowl win, a couple of years before that ryan played almost flawlessly completing 74% of his passes while booking a 144.1 qb rating and lost.... like all games the super bowl comes down to a team effort, goff can have a great outing and still lose, or he could have an underwhelming outing and the rams could win.

hopefully goff, mcvay, and everyone else e responsible for installing and executing the offensive game plan will shine from here on out, we'll see.

Boy, this thread has really degraded, hasn't it? I guess the goal is to harrangue anyone who criticizes Goff to the point that it is easier to just not post? Goff is ranked 24th. He has turned the ball over more than most would consider good. He has led the team to 17th in scoring. All of these things have been used to criticize QB on other occasions but now it seems there is a concerted effort to marginalize his shortcomings. So, it seems there is an agenda but it is not from objective Rams fans wanting better from their QB.

That doesn't matter. The Miami and SF games put a dent in his passer rating. What amuses me is after 16 pages, the thread is labeled "degraded" but that degradation started on page one. The original post was, "how did Goff do, comparatively" (ie, last night, the Patriot game) and it was only 7 replies before the trolling started.

A 24-3 fourth quarter lead over the team who crushed their dreams in the SB and a rookie RB having a career day, but it's a "loss of confidence in the passing game right now", "running on 3rd and 5 and looking very much like you'd rather not even risk a passing play" and "we're just not trying to make plays in the passing game, we're settling for not making mistakes". That might not be considered trolling if it weren't for the 166 passing attempts in the 4 games previous to the TNF contest which produced 3 wins. An average of over 41 attempts per game does not strike me as gun shy. Perhaps, most amusing, it was qualified by "which is perfectly fine when the running game and defense are doing what they're doing". Wasn't that the exact situation in the 4th quarter of that game? So "it was fine" but 'while I'm here, I'll try and project something that wasn't there last night. Hell, I might start another side discussion on the bad games'.

Let's see where Goff ends up both statistically and in terms of where the team finishes before we try to define his season. We're definitely going to have more rushing attempts than we had last year and more than likely going to end up allowing about 800 less yards on defense. And unless we allow 14 TDs over these last 3 games, we're going to finish allowing considerably less 6 pointers than 2019.
