The NFL is ridiculous. If they're so holier than thou, whyTF do they deal with DraftKings?

I'd think if you're going to suspend guys for gambling (and I don't mean they shouldn't be suspended), then at least you would distance your game from gambling. But they take the stance, "it's gonna happen anyway....in Vegas (where we have a team based), on DraftKings or some other internet gambling site.....so we're gonna get a piece of the pie". The NFL is like an undercover cop who screws the hooker, then arrests her for prostitution.

They have embraced the gambling as something that drives revenue from fans.

Gambling by players gets too close to the sacrosanct "integrity of the game." Even NFL players betting on college games, their thinking is likely, it is easy to consider that those players have inside knowledge akin to insider trading (and a gateway to eventually betting on NFL games).

If the NFL is gonna get involved with sports betting, and they are, they want to make sure the game itself is squeaky clean, or at least appears to be.

But, like with pot, they're gonna have to figure out a better way as far as the players are concerned...
