I think we will see him as a receiver, possibly running jet sweeps, and taking handoffs on third and long from the shotgun (those "try to catch the defense sleeping" kind of plays). If Gurley needs a breather on first/second down, I think that role will primarily go to Brown. by dieterbrock 5 years 10 months ago Total posts: 11512 Joined: Mar 31 2015 New Jersey Hall of Fame When should we expect Henderson to shine? POST #116 AvengerRam wrote:Perhaps, but if Henderson is indeed "red shirted," wouldn't that tend to mean that the Rams have a high level of confidence in Gurley's ability to handle a heavy workload?I think it would be more about whether the Rams think Henderson is ready. Kelly obviously wasn't ready last year. When Gurley and Brown went down we signed CJ instead of letting Kelly have the job.But there's a pretty big hole in my theory. I look at Noteboom and Allen sitting out preseason, Blythe last year and wonder why DJ is getting so many reps? Does this mean he doesn't figure in the coming season the way Noteboom/Allen/Blyth do/did?Or is it because they all had a year with the Rams before starting whereas DH is a rookie who's had very little time with the team/coaches?We shall see...
