The plan is, and always has been, to debut new uniforms with the new stadium. That's the process they're working on with Nike. That's always been true and has never changed though i suppose they could bump it up a year if they feel like they can't wait till 2020.

The problem, the mess, was what to do in the meantime, the Coliseum years. (Especially now there's 4 of them instead of 3.) I'm sure the Rams would've been happy Stay in the St. Louis uniforms until 2019/20 but too many of the L.A. fans weren't having it.

So here we are...
But as you say, even St. Louis fans were unhappy with the uniforms and the Rams have supposedly been ready to make a uniform change since back then but keep claiming that the NFL won't allow them to make a change. That they have to submit a request however many years in advance. Well, they keep saying the same thing each year but apparently never put in the actual request.

Now, they're trying to make it sound like the NFL is to blame when it's the Rams who are choosing/failing to actually get the change done.

I don't care about the unis to be honest. As long as they aren't total trash i am ok with it. I have my preference of course. I did have one thought though. Now, I don't have any experience in marketing or anything but I don't understand the Rams strategy of introducing new unis with the new stadium.

Rebranding of any kind whether its new unis or new stadium give a merchandising and popularity bump (social media) and creates a buzz, right. So wouldn't I want to spread those gains over 2 seasons rather than do it in a single season and have them cancel eachother out to some extent. I don't know If i'm explaining myself properly. Wouldn't the Rams sell more unis if that's all the fans had to spend their money on as compared to having to spend money in and around the new stadium.

If Demoff was telling the truth to us season ticket holders in St. Louis, they'd already started the uniform change process 5 years ago. But even back then he blamed someone else (that time insinuating the Indianapolis Colts).

Are we seeing a trend here?

Can I tell you the trend I've observed?

The Rams fans care WAY more about the unis than the Rams organization does. Didn't Demoff say he's always asked by fans about the unis and he's always surprised as to why. Now you or others can translate that into "rams organization doesn't care about Rams fans" but I don't see it that way.

I am a new fan (when the team moved to LA) and one of my fears from the beginning was if Rams will always be like Arsenal football club over in London that Stan is a part owner of. Over there he is known to be the kind of owner who is ok with mediocrity on the field as long as the team is making him money. Someone who doesn't like spending top dollar and someone who isn't a "luxury tax" kind of owner. But I've been pleasantly surprised by these free agent acquisitions which shows that ownership cares about winning. That's more important to me than what and how they deal with the uniforms.

The trend of lying right to fans faces. That was the same luncheon Demoff said he loved the idea of a new open air stadium in St. Louis and would happily work with local officials to make it happen.

If I'm Stan Kroenke I would ask for a special session at the league meetings where I ask what it takes to speed up the process. I'd try to explain that Angelinos hate the St. Louis crap colors and want their Ferragamos right f*cking now. While I'm talking I've got a slide show in the background showing game day pictures from the parking lot/stands of the Coliseum showing the majority of the people wearing beautiful royal blue and yellow. I'd explain that the Ferragamos are as important to LA as the pinstripes are to the NY Yankees and ask what penalties I have to pay to expedite the process.

Instead Stan is dealing with drama in England and kicking more people off his giant ranch in Texas.

It's true that long-time Ram fans (like me) care a lot about the uniforms. And Kevin Demoff claims to be a long-time Ram fan -- growing up in Southern California and cheering for the Rams from a young age. And he seems to have a clear preference for the white and blue uniforms of the '60s. I think it's disingenuous of him to claim that he's surprised that fans care so much about the uniforms. But since he has a great deal of influence over the uniforms the team wears, he has a different perspective on the whole thing.

And I think the Rams organization (Stan) cares about the uniforms, but for completely different reasons than the fans. And he doesn't care a bit what others think of him for his decision-making.

I think relocation and uniforms aren't even in the same stratosphere as issues the team owners and admin think about. So lying about one and the other are way different to me.

I don't think they care enough to do this, even if it was that easy to do. And i don't see why that should piss fans off. I can kinda see why we are talking about it becuase we have literally nothing else to discuss right now.

I think its clear that they don't understand why the fans can't wait a couple more years. They simply don't see it as a big issue. If, from a marketing perspective, the team will benefit more from a uni + stadium rebrand then they'd do that 100 times out of 100 and have pissed off fans than the opposite. Thats just the reality the uni outrage fans need to face and then ask themselves how important this is to them.

I think thats one of the first rights you get when you "own" something.

As much as we like to think Demoff etc works for the fans surely we know he works for the Rams.

.

Why is that a lie? Because St Louis fucked it all up? Not Kevin's fault
