He's not going to make the Fake Carson Stadium site less toxic, he's not going to make the Chargers more popular in LA, he's not going to make the Raiders more appealing to businesses in LA unless they become the Mighty Raiders of Carson and totally rebrand and, in the process, alienate their fans, he's not going to be out there selling radishes at the Fake Carson Farmer's market . . . (etc etc etc on things Iger won't do)

Although he will be paid just $1 dollar annually, Iger will have the option to acquire a minority, non-controlling equity ownership interest in one of either the Raiders or Chargers. Mr. Iger has committed not to exercise his option until he departs his role as Disney’s Chairman and CEO.

Reading through the articles on this it seems to me that he'll be in the same roll as Peacock only he'll have less responsibilities. He seems to be nothing more than a figurehead. Am I reading this wrong?

On a more serious note. Do you think a total lack of any counter measures by Stan is wise? It seemed like during this process he chose to stay out of the media/politics part of the game. He definitely had the resources to play with Spanos on that level if he wanted to.

On top of everything else, Iger won't be pulling in that hefty $1/year salary, unless and until the NFL publically announces they're buying into Fake Carson Stadium:

Shoot, if you want to drop a ridiculous bomb on everything . . . I'd call for Stan to announce that he's retained a super global mega-corp, with tons of experience in sports and entertainment venues, including tons of LA experience. . . AEG.

But seriously, those other people need consultants. I get the feeling that for the vast majority of everything, Stan (and/or his inner circle) is his own consultant -- quite successfully, I might add.
