/zn/ wrote:No it was from this week. The article is from 9/5 and it says: .....[etc. etc.] ... "Gruden said on a conference call Wednesday."

Here's more from that same conference call of 9/5:

Its almost verbatim of what Gruden said in his qb camp episode on Goff.

You know, that's hard to say.

After some seasoning, I think maybe Ryan without the "fold in the clutch" issues, or the equivalent of the best years from guys like Stafford or Rivers. Just on a better team than them.

Rivers was who i was thinking of as well. I see similarities between them too. They were showing Ryan's stats after his 10yrs in the league. Damn..... if he could put up those numbers i would be over the moon.

Either way........ those 2 are near elite QBs and it would be amazing to see Jared become something like them.

I see his ceiling as when we look at a young, superstar QB in the making, and we ask if he can be "the next Goff"

I don't think he quite has AR level physical talent. AR is special, he's in a rare category.

But then see as a physical talent I would not compare anyone in the league to AR.

I'm not the first, I'm not the only, and I won't be the last to see similarities between Goff and Montana, and if that's his ceiling then sign me the f**k up!!

Jared Goff Comp is Aaron Fucking Rodgers. None of this Matt Ryan BS. Matt Ryan never in his career had an arm like Goff nor the Arm Talent and obviously the pocket presence stands alone (montanaesque). Jared Goff has been studying Aaron Rodgers this off-season, he even got rid of that lead-leg lock up before throwing that he used to do. Now its a smooth transition from his base to the end of his throwing motion. His arm is much stronger now than last year.
