The Chargers in 2003 amended their lease to give up the guaranteed ticket sales and in exchange for that the Chargers got the right to negotiate with any US city and to relocate after the 2008 season. The Chargers gave up millions in guaranteed income.

Interesting. Did San Diego get the income then?

This is a sad showing by San Diego, but also ironic. This event has way worse attendance and way worse passion than St. Louis yet they have 15k more fans per game in SD than they do in St. Louis...

On their main forum, the fans are beyond bitter. One of them hoped that no one showed up at all to make a point. Most of them are just mad, and feel that Spanos wants to move so F him.

I also don't think it's so sad a showing.
