so true... after the super bowl loss to the patriots just about every rams fan whined that martz didn't run the ball enough, whined that faulk didn't get enough carries or touches, even suggested that wouldn't have been the case had vermeil still been the hc, of course the rams ran the ball less in the super bowl win over the titans, while faulk had fewer carries and touches, weird how no one complained then.

Yep, that too. A handful of plays, as usual in tight competitive games. We didn't make them, they did.

The real issue was his choice of Gurley runs late in the game. Gurley had been getting his yards in off-tackle runs where Eagles appeared vulnerable. instead, McVay chose some runs up the middle that were stuffed. The real issue is bad choice of run plays.

Yup.
Like when Philly "got screwed by the refs" on an iffy PI call on 3rd and 2 that gave the Rams a 1st down.
Except on the next play, Long stripped Goff and....

and of course gurley is on pace for a career year, 2,000+ yards, including the most carries, receptions, targets, and touches of his career, a shoe-in pro-bowler and a possible all-pro... other than that, mcvay really hasn't used him effectively. mama mia.

I actually got to watch this game. Where were the mismatches in Offense? The TE group had "1", uno, single, and did I mention just "a" reception for 6 yards!

Not very good half time, in game, before or after the game planning IMO.

AUGH rant over

Wow. I was hoping we wouldn't have to be looking for a new head coach again so soon. I think we need a new specials teams coach too. We would have blocked another kick had our punt blocker tucked his arm in. Went right between his arm and chest. Lousy coaching.

28 points on offense. I thought we were supposed to be averaging 31? Fire McVay! Bring Fisher back. He'll overuse Gurley!!

Gurley had plenty of carries in the second half until the Eagles started stacking the box. Then McVay went back to the pass. It's logic.

I think the banged up secondary can still be exploited but, yes they need to get Gurley going to keep the Play Action passes working. He does that and he should get this young corners peaking ing the backfield. The x factor is if the Rams OLine can handle the stacked front four of Seattle.
