original poster wrote:Hi guys,

RedAlice said this is the place to be to discuss all things Rams related and with the upcoming game on Sunday thought I'd pop by, say hi and (hopefully!) discuss the game with you guys.

Tough loss to the Eagles last night, given the Seahawks loss as well it helps us massively, though so I won't complain!

How did you guys do on the injury front? I heard some of your guys got banged up? Guess it's too early to say if any will be out Sunday?

From Seattle's side, Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright both left the game, Bobby with a hamstring that's been bothering him for most of the season) and K.J. is in concussion protocol.

Bobby is critical IMO, if he's out, I see now way in hell Seattle can win this game but with him playing, I think it's a pretty even matchup.

Keen to hear your thoughts on the game and if you have any questions relating to the Hawks just fire away!

Nobody's answering your questions. Kayvon Webster is out with a ruptured Achilles tendon. He and Trumaine Johnson are the main corners. Nickell Robey-Coleman is the slot corner. He does fine moving outside. But the breakdown comes with the fourth and fifth corners on the depth chart. Tru was in concussion protocol, but he is good to go. Joyner has been great at Safety. John Johnson hot and cold. Cody Davis is a good third safety and it sounds like he may be back.

LBer Ogletree is wearing a cast from a hyper extended elbow. It seems to affect his play a bit. Connor Barwin is expected to return at OLB. He is better than his back up.

We had two offensive lineman injured on Sunday. Both tackles, but both returned to the game. They are expected to play. Robert Woods will be returning to the lineup also. He has been the best receiver, but Kupp has made it so the offense hasn't missed him much.

The Rams were not good working against the TE for the Eagles last week. Otherwise they were pretty good in coverage. However, Wentz was extending plays like Wilson does with throws that shouldn't reach their target but somehow do.

Wilson will always be a problem for any team. I hope the Shehawks are beat up and worn out by now. Usually teams that are winning all season but shouldn't be on paper are gutting it out all year and eventually break down by seasons end. Seattle had a rough game last week. That is way better for us. Your team is no fresher than ours.

I hope McVay can take advantage of your second string secondary and keep the Shehawks from stacking the box. Beating your backup corners seems like the logical way to go but nobody had been doing it until last week. Maybe the Jaguars coaches uncovered some way to negate the Crazy plays that Wilson pulls out of his ass every game. Or maybe your team has been playing over their heads and are starting to hit a wall. It is hard to imagine having a shot at the division with a weak run game and the QB accounting for 95% of the offense. But here we are.

The Rams are healthier and have more games under their belt this time around, in both new schemes, offense/defense. They are be better than the last meeting, when they had five turnovers. The Hawks lost key players since then. A dropped pass in the end zone kept the Rams from victory. Logic says the Rams should win by a wide margin, but the Seattle fans at home, and Russel Wilson always throw logic out the window (see what I did there). I hope McVay and Phillips learned some things from Jacksonville and past games against the Cardinals on how to win in Seattle. The Seahawks look more beatable than they have in several years and the Rams need to take advantage of it.

Thanks for the warm welcome, chaps.

The game is no doubt going to be tight, both teams want it badly, both teams coming off a tough loss. Hard game to call.

It's funny, my hate for the rams mostly left when Jeff Fisher left, couldn't stand that guy. McVay seems pretty likeable, though.

How are you guys looking on the injury front now?

Lol

Welcome. Should be a good game.
Oh, I almost forgot, I hate your team and all their coaches
Haha

True enough, dieter! ;)

Welcome over here, @original poster

I can vouch for him that he'll still be around after the game win or lose and adds much to the conversation about the game and his team. He's handled worse than we have here.

It's fun to have knowledgeable fans of other teams chime in.

Sorry totally missed this post. Really helpful, thanks!

I typically hate to pinpoint a game on one players injury status however I think the below will be a large deciding factor in the game.

Bobby Wagner, he's had a nagging hamstring issue for most of the season, hasn't practiced pretty much all season but has always played a full game, until this past Sunday.

He is a difference maker, he has the ability to limit with Gurley can do and that's the biggest swing IMO.

If he's out, I genuinely see no way the Hawks can win. If he's in, we have ourselves a game!

That and the pass rush, last week they were simply woeful. 1 QB hit (I think), 0 sacks, Blake Bortles had all day to pass. Give your QB that much time and he will shread them.

Fortunately they seem to play like a different unit at home so I'm loosely optimistic the likes of Frank Clark and Sheldon Richardson will show up.

The Seattle offensive line is also vastly different to the last time these two teams matched up, believe it or not they are actually impressive in pass pro and (dare I say it) nearly adequate in run blocking.

I wouldn't be able to predict the final score but I think it will be extremely tight, I do think one team is going to have their heart broken in the final minute of the game as the game will be that close, it'll come down to who makes the better play(s) in the final minute.

That’s ironic. Our hatred of a Fisher left right about 1 second after he got fired. That said, we ALL hate that gum chompin asshat Pete Caroll. Well, all us Rams fans that is. Hate your team. Hate Sherman. Hate Petey boy. Hate the 12. Will LOVE beating your team. As I am sure you will love that slim hope of beating us. ;)

I'd be lying if I said the week 5 win against the Rams wasn't my second favourite win this season

ramsman34 wrote:Hey "friendly", just show up here and have an intelligent conversation about the game...after we bodyslam your shesquats. I don't like your team, your HC, and MOST of your fellow fans. You seem alright. But that congeniality will be put to the test come Sunday. I live just south of Seattle and wear RAMS gear every day. It seems that is an invitation for idiot shesquat fan to approach me and tell me how you are gonna smoke us Sunday. No real football talk about how this is going to happen; just blind, ignorant allegiance. Respect the hell out of the fever of the shesquat fan. But, don't walk up to me and say how badly you are going destroy us without some actual reasons as to why you think that is going to happen. I can tell you EXACTLY how the RAMS are going to dismantle your beloved squats.

And we are all going to see it happen come Sunday.

yeah, the Seahawks won the first game in the LA house. You might want to tone down the bravado lol

Thanks for the run down.

What do you think Wagner and Wright’s chances are of playing on Sunday?

I heard that Carroll said Wagner is likely a game time decision. What does that usually mean?

I think we can usually tell who will play and who won’t by the words and tone of the coaches the week of the game. We pretty much knew Ogletree would be up and Woods would be down last week even though they practiced about the same.

So I’m curious on what you are hearing in Seattle.

Typically it means exactly that, they see how they do in pre game warm ups etc. Personally, I'd be amazed if Bobby doesn't play. I'd say there's an 80% chance he plays, I'm also hearing K.J. has responded well, he should play as well.

Mike Davis (RB) left the game with a rib injury, he should be good to go as well.

Makes sense.

I've seen on some Seahawks boards that they expect Wright to play. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't get cleared.

I think there is a high probability that Wagner somehow gets on the field, but the big question then is how effective will he be. Hamstrings are very tricky. Most times when a player tries to play with a bad one, he either re-injures it, or is not very effective, or even a liability, especially when speed is a big part of his game like Wagner.
