St. Loser Fan wrote:The correct intent should have been to have the Rams playing in Ferragamos starting August 2016. They shouldn't need new uniforms to get people to games at Inglewood.

Just a little bit of online research and talking to Los Angeles fans should have made the Rams plus the NFL aware that the St. Louis dark blue and metallic gold was a major pain point.

I would've had them in the blue and whites in the Coliseum then reintroduce the Ferragamo colors in Inglewood which i guess is sort of what they're doing.

Us old timer Ferragamo lovers are a force to be reckoned with but we're not the future and neither are uniforms from the 80's.

The Rams are trying to keep us happy while building for the future, and so far they're doing a terrible job. But in a couple years when they're in their new uniforms and their new stadium this will all be forgotten...

Either way whether it was pre 1970's blue/white or 70s to 90's Ferragamos, Los Angeles should not have been subjected to St. Louis crap colors.

Fair point.

I do see this period being flashed back to kind of like Ram It though probably a lot less fondly...

Of course the colors weren't StL's fault or the colors that represent your sporting community. I think of red / white and gold for some reason.
Those "crap colors" were all on Madame Ram.

I'm not sure they can improve what we already had. Perhaps some modernization,,, but the colors were very Cali. The Gabriel's are similar to the Dodgers colors so that is LA too.

The St. Louis Blues and St. Louis University Billikens would like a word with you.

I'm not trying to white knight her, but the story I heard it wasn't Georgia that did the color change from LA and that it was a John Shaw decision.

Opps, forgot the Blues. Yeah, some of their scheme resembles the Bulger's. Some other artwork resembles the Ferragamo's.

2000 St. Louis Rams Team Colors: A Near Miss
LOOKING BACK
By John Turney

Since it is kind of a Rams kind of day, here are two helmets which were considered for the Rams in 2000 but were not selected due to the Zodiac.

In 2000 the St. Louis Rams switched from a blue and gold scheme they had worn since 1973 to a navy and old gold (millennium blue new century gold is what Rams media guide called it). However, the color scheme Rams owner Georgia Frontiere liked best was powder blue and and gold,

In an interview with former Rams equipment manager Todd Hewitt, Helmet Hut got the following information from Hewitt:

Said Hewitt, "When we changed our color scheme in 2000, we actually considered many different possibilities, 15-20 combinations or so. Mrs. Frontiere's favorite color was powder blue. . . She thought the Rams would look great in this color and wanted to see some examples. So we made up some powder blue helmets with gold horns and gold helmets with powder blue horns, which she loved.

But being someone that was very much into astrology, Mrs. Frontiere agreed to the current color scheme because, actually, she liked the names of the colors we used: new century gold and millennium blue. She thought it made cosmic sense if you will, given the year was 2000."

Phew.

By doubling down I hope it doesn't mean the trend will continue
