Love the player, hate the contract

I'd hate to lose him, but I'd rather lose him for a 2nd than getting nothing at all

I wonder if that was the plan all along and there are already suitors. I also wonder if Tru is in the loop on this. Like previously mentioned, possibly to Cleveland to reunite with GW. They have the draft capital and the cap space to acquire.

Another NFLN guy just tweeted to keep our eyes on Cleveland in a trade for TruJo.

I'd love to sign Tru long term, but if that cant happen then trading him is the way to go
If they lost him in Free Agency, they'd (at best) be looking at a 3rd round pick next year. So if they could get another 3rd this year or even a 2nd, and that would be perfect.

I'm thinking the same way. Get a 2nd this year with a deep CB class and we're in good shape. Plus saving the 16mil to use on 2 decent players.

I like this scenario a lot, and it does make sense for the Browns to trade a 2nd for him, assuming Tru would be willing to sign a reasonable long-term deal with them. This draft is LOADED at corner.

If he was willing to sign a reasonable long term deal the rams would have already locked him in. The rams have shown they are willing to pay (even overpay) to keep their guys...sometimes to a fault. Tru wants to break the bank plain and simple. I can't blame him, that's today's NFL.

Let him break someone else's bank, I just hope they get a nice deal for him.

If we had let him go in FA we would have gotten a compensatory 3rd rounder for him at most.

A 2nd rounder in a trade with anyone would be a clear win for us.

Could the Browns or whoever also be trading a current player? How about a 2nd round pick and a current player. A good offensive lineman would be nice.

Funniest trade ever was a MLB deal trading a player to a team for a player to be named later who ended up being the player to be named later. He got traded for himself!
