In total technically 6 owners, but really only 5 .In order1) Founder Homer Marshman and the team for about 8 years and won the franchises first championship. Not the worst. (unless your'e in Cleveland)2) Next came Dan Reeves. Reeves was responsible for bringing the Rams to LA in the 40's and established a winning first class organization with many innovations. He actually had Bob Hope as a partner before buying him and Levy out. Not the worst 3) Robert Irsay, for about 5 minutes. He purchased the rams and traded them almost immediately with,4) Carroll Rosenbloom. We all know his story and tragic ending. Certainly not the worst.5) Georgia Frontierre. Inherited the Rams from Carroll Rosenbloom after having him put out of her misery Ran the team into the ground by overspending in her personal life and then moved the team away from LA against the wishes of the NFL to her hometown of StL who she also screwed over by adding a clauseinto the ;ease which could cripple StL after bailing her out but all the while distancing herself from half her fan base. Then killed the coolest uniform in the history of the NFL. By far THE worst.6) Enos Stanly Kroenke. Seized control of the Rams upon the death and subsequent sale of the majority shares owned by Carrolls ( and GF's) kids. He immediately began a process where he could stabilize the financial security of the team through asset improvements. Simultaneously improving the front office staff and onfield staff who strengthened the teams player foundation significantly. Onfield results not withstanding. Lastly he see's the ability to put the franchise up at the top of the league and return them to the city of Angeles Not the worst (unless you're in StL)It remains to be seen if we have gone from worst to first but we are a lot closer than before. Within the past two years those leaders and StL media experts (except for Bryan Burwell) were still saying the Rams had nowhere to go; LA was years from getting a feasible stadium plan together. The goal was to get Kroenke to finance the bulk of a new stadium or dome renovations if he insisted they were necessary. The CVC's proposal for dome upgrades reflected as much. The Rams counter proposal was far more realistic. They won arbitration. Political leaders here ignored the ruling -- imagine their reaction had the Rams/Kroenke lost arbitration and ignored the decision. Instead of engaging the Rams in meaningful negotiations, StL leadership kept with the short-sided "leverage" strategy, even heading into this season. They believed there was still nowhere for the Rams to go and they had "leverage" over Kroenke. Also, when Nixon hitched the task force to the CVC, it seems it ruled out any option to allow Stan to fund and build his own stadium. I mean, if they had offered oodles of infrastructure improvements, tax breaks, and subsidies to encourage Stan to build a stadium of his own, in a location of his own choosing, this could be a different story. Instead, Stan has been offered a take it or leave it "choice" of being a tenant in someone else's stadium that is part of someone else's redevelopment project in a location someone else chose -- not exactly a formula I would use to keep a billionaire happy.Ultimately, as fans, I get the Stan hate. But I think the politicians over there could use some heat too. As I have said in other places I think any real initiative for the big 3 of the task force to make any headway has been silenced. 2 of the 3 Nixon and Blitz are attorneys so their strength is getting this into a court room. Which they are unable to as Stan has shut the door there. While many in StL get mad he has stayed silent throughout I think it plays in his favor. If he was to speak up or acknowledge the task force. I am sure Blitz would would use that against him and get this into court and theorize how Stan knows he is not a free agent by acknowledging and interacting with the task force. He has used his right to remain silent to take 2 of the big 3's strengths from them.So now we have mudslinging in hopes that a general uproar can reach a proportion where the voices of the customers of the NFL can be heard and place some pressure on the NFL. Thing is while that is a so American approach it usually only works when it can be raised at a national level. Which I don't believe is gonna happen as most fan bases around our country could honestly care less about the Rams and were they will play. This strategy in my opinion will fail as it is never gonna raise any fervor beyond regional which will fall short of the national uproar that will be needed to pressure the NFL.So like I said the written approaches are quite predictable and clinical at that. It has become quite clinical now as to how predictable the written response is gonna be. I reckon when the mudslinging to create a negative contour fails all the hard work will pay off when it can be said like it is about any ex..............heck bro I am glad she is gone she was crazy. So anyway I think this is all predictable and once again just reaffirms how out of their control this whole process is. I understand people in St. Louis being upset, but St. Louis will never be confused with a Philadelphia, Cleveland or Chicago as sports town. In the end Kroenke wanted more from a venue than St. Louis could offer and that's what the powers that be lost sight of, Kroneke wanted a venue that could possibly host a Super Bowl and NCAA events the new Riverfront project could not offer that type of opportunity for him. They should have partnered with Kroenke like Mayor Butts, however, they decided to work against him. The CVC turned down the Ram request to rebuild the dome and add 700 million dollars which I think EJK would have committed some money to, but they were too concerned with shutting the convention center down for construction because of monster truck rallies, well, now you can have as many monster truck shows as you wish as Stan is loading up the truck and moving to Beverly, hills that is, swimming pools and movie stars! by snackdaddy 9 years 10 months ago Total posts: 10046 Joined: May 30 2015 Merced California Hall of Fame Re: Feel the Hate POST #15 What do they say? One side comes in with the maximum acceptable offer and the other minimum acceptable but the problem is that the CVC's offer did not meet any of the standards for top tier. The other issue is the whole mess with the London. The NFL offered lower revenue teams the ability to play home games in London because that one game generates enough revenue for 2 regular games. The additional revenues reduces a teams need for relocation because of the increased revenues. What St Louis doesn't realize is that by making such a big deal out of the London games it intensified the need for relocation and created bad will with both Kroenke and the league. by Stranger 9 years 10 months ago Total posts: 3213 Joined: Aug 12 2015 Norcal Superstar Re: Feel the Hate POST #18 den-the-coach wrote: In the end Kroenke wanted more from a venue than St. Louis could offer and that's what the powers that be lost sight of, Kroneke wanted a venue that could possibly host a Super Bowl and NCAA events the new Riverfront project could not offer that type of opportunity for him. It was cool when HC's wore suits on the sidelines.snackdaddy wrote:What do they say? One man's trash is another man's treasure? They may hate Kroenke in St. Louis, but LA fans are loving him. He's a hero in SoCal. As far as owners go, I don't see how anyone could be as bad as GF.Yup, I'm loving me som SKBuiltRamTough wrote:den-the-coach wrote:Enos Stanley "Stan" Kroenke has outgrown Missouri, it happens, he's even more powerful and has become much stronger financially over his years overseeing the Rams. I understand people in St. Louis being upset, but St. Louis will never be confused with a Philadelphia, Cleveland or Chicago as sports town. The CVC turned down the Ram request to rebuild the dome and add 700 million dollars which I think EJK would have committed some money to, but they were too concerned with shutting the convention center down for construction because of monster truck rallies, well, now you can have as many monster truck shows as you wish as Stan is loading up the truck and moving to Beverly, hills that is, swimming pools and movie stars!Add events like the pro bowl, draft, college football bowl games, ucla or usc might become a tenant, Grammys, academy awards, major concerts, stadium series hockey games, nba all star games, major international soccer games, NFL combine anddd the big one, Super Bowl. He can't do all that in STL. I don't think it's so much about STL but more about the opportunity LA brings.I recall attending the ProBowl at the Coliseum. I never even thought about how much of a draw an LA Stadium will be for national and international events. New HC. New L.A. Stadium. It has become quite clinical now as to how predictable the written response is gonna be.
