Rams the Legends live on wrote:A1, Nate Solder is who I was hoping we would take in the first round in 2011, we chose Quinn instead which I have no complaints we did.

had solder been taken by the rams in 2011, and had to block for the stiffs the rams have had under center and play for the stiffs that have coached for the rams, my guess is it would be nate who? nate won a wonka ticket when he was drafted to block for brady and play for belichick. and even with that advantage he's never been considered one of the league's top left tackles as far as i can tell.

It makes a lot of sense to me.

Belichek is constantly changing his defense/offense/game plan to suit the situation. It's not one system, it's nearly an infinity of systems that differs from game to game.

Who else could pull that off? Who else would try?

hell, after almost five years fish and company can't figure out one game plan to make their offense better than last in the league... are some coaches better than others at their job? um, yeah.

He's the best at it in the business today and of the past 20 years
BB knows what each position coach needs to be and he has a unique ability of getting them there
Again, he doesn't make them great coaches per say, he makes them great for what he needs them to do
No secret sauce, he's just better at it than anyone else
If there's no secret, why can't ANYONE else do it? I just don't buy that he's delegating at some supreme level that no one else can even approach.

Or that his other coaches can't observe how he does it and then can't do it themselves.

There's something else at play.

Hmmm, Carrol's USC program sanctioned and victories voided, Belichick a multiple caught cheating offender...yeah, I'm seeing a pattern emerge.

All "Great" coaches need very good QB's.
Belichick- Brady
Carroll- Wilson

Now I think what is surprising is how many times the Patriots have missed on draft picks of the last 4-5 drafts. But they do draft in volume in rounds 2-3 which could make up for it....
