Loving this win with the whiner loss at home and the Cardinals now in a bit of a hole. Kind of takes the sting out the weak finish (lose 5 or 6 on the way to the playoffs? Really?)by the Dodgers simpering into the playoffs and totally sucking the air out of the walk off clinch at home and Vinnie's last home game. Having him call the bullshit Midget game in that weak toyland baseball field was a definite turd in the punchbowl. Vin finished with nothing but class but you could tell he was a bit bummed. Los Ramos cured that. Oh, and the Cheatriots got shut out today. US won the Ryder Cup. Pretty great day.

I still don't understand the logic. If the braintrust really thinks Keenum is a playoff caliber QB and they were going to play him anyway, why not give him some more help?

It's not like he's old and if he leads the team to the playoffs, why not get him a true stud WR or o-line help/depth or defense or any number of other things that help a QB and his team win games?

Is Goff really going to be 5 players better than Keenum?

Goff certainly wasn't good value for what they paid for him, and there was a significant opportunity cost that was lost. But apparently the Rams felt he was the best shot at giving them a QB who could develop into a franchise QB, a sustainable winning QB.

That doesn't exclude them from getting to the playoffs with Keenum, but they know Keenum isn't good enough to take them much further. And the plan should always be to win the SB, not just get to the playoffs. Pat Haden was good enough to get to the playoffs, but that was it.

Sooner or later Goff will get on the field, only now it looks like it will be later as long as CK stays healthy. As long as the Rams are winning, there is no need to push Goff onto the field. And the same would hold true for any team that is staring a rookie QB.

How bad can it be for Goff right now? His team is in first place, and he's watching, learning and getting ready for when his chance comes.

That remains to be seen. The same thing was said about Wentz. I would have been happy with either one. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't getting a little concerned that they picked the wrong guy.

I was a Wentz guy right up until the Rams drafted Goff. It would be really easy for me to jump on the soap box and proclaim I was right...but I'm a huge Goff fan now and that isn't me. It's not about me being right. It's about the Rams being right and winning. I'd also be lying if I said I didn't have the same concerns as you. I have a feeling we will get to see Goff soon.

I know most were secretly hoping for a losing streak or really poor play by Case to get him in the game but I think Fisher has been doing just what he said. The Rams are getting the kid ready to play. The O-line is getting better and the WR's are starting to play better. Add to that some of the Rookie WR's are getting healthy and Goff has a chemistry with them.

We shall see soon but I don't know if instant results are going to indicate which QB is better. It will be several years before the measuring stick becomes clear. I'm hoping the Rams got the better QB but both might have very successful careers where it's a judgement call. I don't think either turns into Ryan Leaf...maybe they both come closer to a Manning.

When Goff finally get' his chance to play, I bet he will look great. He will impress. The other guys who went to college for 4 years are being pressed into duty. Let's see how that goes over time.
As our team gel's the addition of Goff might take us over the top. Could happen.

One game at a time. We won 3 of them,,, and in a row,, 2 on the road. We aren't filling up the box scores or stat sheets but apparently we didn't have to. We aren't the lowest point producers but barely at 63 total. That about a full game in points less than most everyone else.
I guess that'll happen with a shut out opener on the books.

Let's hope we can consistently win out of our division and conference too. We haven't had that challenge yet. We're about to find out.
