All right, just made my call:

First rep gave me $5 off for 6 months then he transferred me to another guy who gave me $20 off a month for a year.

That's off the Max package and we've been a customer for a long time now. I didn't really have to threaten anything, just said the bill was getting high and wanted to know what they could do for me...

Tell them that's not low enough and you want to cancel. When they give you the lowest price and you still think it's not low enough tell them you want to cancel. If they go like ok fine let's cancel your account, just hang up quick and try again.

I don't have directv but I do that all the time for my cable packages and various subscriptions like SiriusXM etc.

Oh and as far as Sunday ticket goes, this is the last year we as Angelinos pay and or talk about it. It'll be free on cable and antenna starting next year

If/when they do move back, we Angelinos are again subject to blackouts. Haven't had that problem for 20 years. After the relocation / lame ducks stuff is over with and they reinstate that blackout rule we are all going to have to go to the game or watch on delay. If TWC buys the any rights it could go Dodgers for those of us who's cable providers won't pay the extortion TWC is peddling. I haven't seen a Dodger game or heard Vinny in like 2 seasons now. FTWC!

Not sure if they keep notes but I got offered the same deal by 3 different people. $5 per month. Have had direct tv for 10 years and the ticket for most every year. Cancelled it, just cant swing the $350

Probably a combination of the upgrades that Ive gotten over the years, whole home DVR, free movie credit etc and they probably think I wont leave altogether because I have some combo deal with internet and phone
I just dont belive that anyone gets it for free and some of the claims that they get it free every year? I just dont see how its possible

There probably is a yearly limit on what they'll give you. I pretty much only call once a year, in August...

I got Sunday Ticket for free this year. I always play the Cancel card. Last year I got 50% off. I also got 50% off Starz for the wife.
