I'm glad they are working on keeping our unit together (except for JJ) but only signing within doesn't add anyone to fill a certain holes.

+1

100% agree. Just tough to see active teams and quiet on the Rams front. Hopefully some info comes out soon regarding players outside of the organization they are targeting.

In fairness, the Rams are usually up against the cap with little space so they have no choice but to wait. This year? Money to burn

What the Rams are doing is, arguably, smart: Don't overpay in free agency. That means losing some players when you're as good at developing your players on defense as we've been under Fisher.

That's actually a good problem.

Notice no one is paying crazy money for our FA's on offense...

I say it's time to resign guys like Tavon Austin and Alec Ogletree. I don't think either will cost us to much and its better then waiting another year and having both those guys have great years next year then next offseason they will cost a lot. If that makes sense. Thoughts?

I understand what you're saying, however why flush out the salary cap to not spend any money?
Seems like we're going to have a typical Rams FA where we only re-sign a couple of our own guys that nobody else wanted and somehow be convinced we're a better team for it...

It's a good idea for the Rams. But players like TA and AO know how big the payday can be when they hit FA after their rookie contracts expire. So it's a lot easier said than done...

And i get what you're saying but we're gonna spend that money one way or another. Until we see how it's spent, i guess we can't really say how smart or stupid they were not to pay top dollar for Jenkz and McLeod...

No your probably right, but stuff like that should be the priority not signing free agents from other places. Free agency is a bitch isn't it.
