It's logical that there's more pressure to win in LA. Glad that they feel a sense of urgency.

Curious to know who/what is driving their decisions now. They are certainly not based on sentiment or old guard methods.

Apparently, the Rams are getting more involved with analytics, including Kroenke who is speaking at a conference in Boston next month.

Are you going to be able to attend the conference? I'd really like to hear what Stan has to say.

I can't get in for free.

I may know someone who is attending though.

Now it's all about selling LA that they are trying even harder now.

No team is going to "admit" they didn't play hard or try to win. It would be spectacularly the wrong thing to say.

It's like a woman who says now that I know you, I will start being honest and faithful. If your reaction to that is "oh good, guess I'm worth it," then, you're making a mistake.

I'm anxious to hear it again.

He certainly didn't say, "we weren't trying to win in St. Louis."

It was more like:

It's very important to be a winner in Los Angeles.

It's important to win everywhere but even moreso here.

We're more focused on that now than we were the last couple years in St. Louis.

That's what i think he said. I too want to verify it.

I'd love to ask him what specifically he thinks they can do differently that will make them more likely to be a winner...

Well, that's partly better, but, if Demoff said "we're more focused on that now," then, he made a big PR mistake.

That's not throwing St. Louis under the bus, it's throwing the Rams---coaches, players, front office--under the bus.

My first thought hearing that is "well if that's what you think, then, why WEREN'T you as focused on that before?" I can't imagine there being a good answer to that. Plus I don't think it's true that they weren't.

Assuming i've got it right, or close to right, i think Demoff was trying to explain why we can expect better results now. Everybody says winning is important. That doesn't tell you anything.

But clearly the last couple years in St. Louis relocation was on the front burner so maybe winning wasn't? But again, what does that mean practically speaking?

Jeff Fisher has been on a long leash, has had the luxury of playing a long game, slowly building his roster through the draft.

I imagine he'll be expected to show results, that his leash just got a whole lot shorter.

But how does any of this translate into wins? That's what i'd like to ask...

Hopefully your friend can "lend" you their pass long enough for you to see Stan's talk :)

I guess you don't work in marketing.

You play to your audience.

"We're trying HARDER for YOU because YOU are more important than the people you left."
No one in LA is going to hear any different.
No one? I sure am. If they haven't been trying their hardest every single day...at the very least, saying that they've been trying their hardest, then shame on them.

If they weren't giving their best and trying their hardest in St. Louis, for St. Louis then I'll lose a LOT of respect for them.

Or perhaps Demoff was referring to the stage of rebuilding they have been going through and that they are now at the stage where the growing pains of the last few years have to produce now.
