Bringing Stafford back should not be a tough call. There are no QBs who will be available in FA or the draft (certainly not at pick #26) who would be better than Stafford in 2025. While Stafford may only have a year or two left before he retires, the Rams are poised to contend over those years, so now is not the time to put in a QB with a learning curve or a transitional guy.

So, the only issue is how to pay him his market value in the short run. I'm confident that can and will be worked out.

It would be automatic for me but can they pay him 40-50 mil in 2025? Would Stafford settle for less? He pretty much pushed it to the limit this season and they came to an agreement with "either party can walk in 2025". As I said, he's the guy I've wanted in a Rams Uni since he was DRAFTED. It's not my call and I don't think it will be an easy one.

Sounds like an easy call to me.

Assuming he wants to play at all (and I'll assume that), you've got a great QB1 who doesn't want to go anywhere else, and a coach, front office, and team that doesn't want him to go anywhere else.

That has all the makings of a being able to find a solution there.

Pay the man and go all in, because once Stafford is gone it is going to get way tougher.
It was a rare thing that we were able to a Stafford. We dont want to fall into the trap that the Steelers fell into i.e not having a plan at QB after Ben Rothisberger.

I really hope they can find a guy they can develop in the 2025 draft who can pass and run.

That's partly my point. I'm all in on Stafford. Maybe my post was misleading but I'm not sure you "develop" a 3rd round talent into a Matt Stafford...ever. You either suck to the bottom (Wash) and get a top 3 pick in the draft or you trade the house (Goff) as we did for Stafford at a reasonable age. As stated by some, no one is available and we are far too good a team to tank for the draft. If we won another SB I could live with developing a starting QB and trying to remain competitive but J. Daniels is a freak 'o nature. Look at the QBs drafted lately who have been struggling. J. Hurts is now scrutinized for his injuries and relying too much on Barkley and the D. Time's up for Purdy in SF and Jimmy G is not the answer. It will be interesting but I'd like to get 2 more years out of Stafford. He's been outstanding.

I'm going to go with... NO.

I thinks he's betting heavily on the McVay factor with Lawrence. I would also think McVay would raise his game significantly but the money. Again, that's a big contract and Stafford has been a bargain after the likes of Bradford. Only supports my theory, this will not be automatic. A LOT depends on Stafford's future outlook.

I completely agree, more Stafford please. I just dont think we can count on anything with him at this point. You can still find guys later, I mean Lamar was drafted at the bottom of the first round. Maybe we have to get super aggressive if you like one. This is going to be a massive decision for the Rams and the longevity of this run.

I'm still not clear on what you're saying.

Are you suggesting that Stafford might not wish to continue playing, or that the Rams might not be willing to pay for him to return?

I want Stafford Matthew Stafford is my Quarterback.

After Stafford I want Trevor Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence is my guy.

I want to win . And I want to keep winning.

This team trades for and drafts number 1 picks.

Goff Stafford Lawrence

This point is moot Stafford will resign here for a 2 year deal.
