I hope Forbes or some rookie (Whittington, Corum) lights it up so they can inspire McVay to add a dimension to our postseason. I'm glad we've got a meaningless game-- I hope it inspires coach(es) to play loose and add some fireworks to our playbook on both sides of the ball.

I was thinking the same thing. If he rests starters it becomes a high-end preseason type game and gives the chance for some of these other players to maybe make a positive impression going into the playoffs.

I particularly am hoping that Whittington can work himself into a higher WR rotation vs Robinson. Maybe some kind of Whittington/Atwell combo more frequently. I also agree about Corum.

This would be the perfect opportunity to give Forbes some snaps opposite Witherspoon. Williams can move to SCB (where he first started) that way Lake can return to his best position as a safety.

I honestly think McVay must play his starting offense including Stafford to start the game. Give them at least two series to show they can kick it into gear when the playoff starts then he can rest them. IMO getting the offense moving again is their highest priority (besides staying healthy) because they cannot limp into the playoffs with a sputtering abomination of an offense that has been on the field for the last 3 weeks.

It's even a more perfect chance to rest Witherspoon who's an old man by NFL standards.

I'm just about 100% sure the starting offense will not play at all...

BTW, Rams had this exact situation last year, sat the starters and beat the Niners with Carson Wentz.

So it's possible to do both, rest the starters and get the 3 seed.

Seattle is favored by 3...

Of course not! But not going for it on 4th and 2 with nothing to lose, punting the ball away, running the ball on 3rd and 8 are all ways to keep from winning and getting a higher draft pick. Coaching decisions.

Where's Durant? I know Witherspoon made the big play (that was luck) and has several nice pass break ups, but he gives up a lot of plays, too. And Durant had been top 10 in most CB metrics all season. Zero snaps the last 2 weeks. He was injured but nothing coming out that he still is.

Pretty sure McVay recently said they like how who they have out there now are playing, no knock on Cobie, something like that...

There's only one person whose opinion (on seeding and momentum vs. rest) is important.

And I think he made it abundantly clear a year ago how he feels about that.

Yes he did at one time but he's also often said that each year is different. He didn't have an offense that looked like it was out of gas.
