A 10-7 record is no guarantee of a playoff spot if you don't win the division.

Standings for wildcard:

Vikings: 9-2
Green Bay: 8-3
Commanders: 7-5
Cardinals: 6-5
Seahawks: 6-5

Green Bay has the tie breaker vs the Rams so it will come down to winning the NFCW to guarantee a playoff spot.

This why I'm saying the loss to Miami was a big loss and the Rams had a one game cushion since then. Now they have zero cushion and need to take the division. Remember right now the Cards have the tie breaker over the Rams. The Rams need help to win the division right now. Yeah I don't believe the Cards will continue to win but needing help to win the division isn't really in the hands of the Rams.

Losing to Buffalo could end the Rams season. That's how big that Miami loss was. Mathematically they could still make the playoffs but it will take a lot of help. Sweeping the rest of the season then seeing how things shake out with the rest of the NFCW is really the Rams best hope.

The Rams have head to head with all divisional opponents. Those are must wins. Parasitic loss via the Rams beating those 3 teams evens out records and gives the Rams almost all tie breakers.

I think they can win the west at 10-7. So they have 1 more mulligan in my eyes.

I don’t see any other nfc west team going on a run. That could be more hope than logic, however. 😀

I’ll add, with the way the offense is playing and if it doesn’t improve immediately, we can’t make the playoffs. We won’t win 3 more games unless the O starts scoring.

But I also think the defense has to play much better than the eagles game obviously. Can't let teams continue to go on long drives, keeping it away from the Rams O.

I do think the Rams played fairly well offensively against a very good eagle defense. Just cant fumble and give up quick sacks.

I'll go further I think they win the west at 10-7, maybe 9-8. The key is if they win all 3 of their division games they make the playoffs. Like you mentioned that gives them the tie breaker. But we need to win Sunday on a late start back east. I just dont see any team in our division going on a run, we all have warts. Niners might be out after this weekend.

I guess if you get into the playoffs hope springs eternal but if the Rams come with the Eagles(or Cardinals) game what awaits them is just another embarrassment.

Well the Rams will need to win at min 4 of the next 6 and most likely have to sweep the 3 division games. IF IF IF they do that and go to playoffs, I dont think most teams will want to play them. Clearly Detroit and Philly are the class of the NFC, If Rams win the division they will play Washington or GB or Atlanta or Minnesota at home, Im good with that.

Spread Rams by 3 now. Even though it's in NO, it's an afternoon window game, probably doesn't matter but if it does, helps the Rams a little...
