If Kupp doesn’t play or plays very little Thursday, the writing is in the wall. If the team keeps winning the Staff probably stays. I do t think they will get the draft capital they want in these trades.

I'd love for both of them to be traded to the Raiders. Even if the they over pay. Raiders have a lot of cap space available. Even with the loss of Adams, they already have an elite WR (didn't play last week).

Rams have spoken with teams about Cooper Kupp trade, what it would take to facilitate: Sources

By Dianna Russini, Mike Silver and Jourdan Rodrigue

The Los Angeles Rams have spoken with teams about a potential trade involving star wide receiver Cooper Kupp, league sources said.

Sources with knowledge of those conversations said the Rams indicated to them that they would be open to taking on some of Kupp’s remaining salary in 2024. Kupp’s base salary entering the season was $15 million with a cap number of $29 million. He also is due a $7.5 million roster bonus in March, according to Over the Cap, with $5 million guaranteed. Those sources added that the Rams indicated to them they were seeking a second-round pick.

Kupp, 31, is expected to return from an ankle injury this Thursday night when the Rams host the Minnesota Vikings. He has been out since suffering the injury in Week 2. Prior to the injury, Kupp had 18 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown.

While Kupp has missed time to injuries over the last three seasons, he was a key element to their Super Bowl-winning team during the 2021 season and earned the NFL’s triple crown. Much of head coach Sean McVay’s offense has typically run through Kupp.

Trade conversations began between the Rams and other teams earlier this fall, league sources said.

Tuesday afternoon, the Rams opened the 21-day practice window for second-year receiver Puka Nacua. He has been on injured reserve since Week 1, after reaggravating a knee injury suffered during training camp.

Do the Raiders play on grass or field turf? That matters hugely to Kupp.

That hasn't stopped Sneed in the past.

I began hearing this before the season but didn't give it much thought. But the more I hear it the more it fits. It's why I've contended that this very well could be the last season for Matt Stafford. There is no way the Rams would even consider trading Kupp if Stafford was going to play in 2025. It fits also with what I've heard for about a year that Stafford is quietly looking at his retirement options. It also fits with his wanting to add more guaranteed money to his contract. The Rams simply converted a few million of next year's salary into guaranteed money. It's why I've always held it didn't make sense long term for either the Rams or Stafford.

This would also fit if the Rams were seriously considering their QB1 options next year. I think the rumors have more than a modicum of truth. It's clear that Stafford's health is a very serious issue long term. Again the Rams need to be one year early then one year too late when it comes to QB1.

If a trade is worked out then I would consider this Stafford's final year. Jimmy G gives them a bridge option if they choose the draft route. There are two perhaps 3 QBs they could be looking at with one or perhaps two being outside of the first round. IMO the primary compensation would be a high draft pick next year. With Nacua, Whittington and Atwell (if they extend him)/ Smith the Rams will be still set at WR. I think Tyler Johnson replaces Robinson on the depth chart.

So yeah I think it's been in the works for a while now. Kupp's age and injury history work against his trade value. That said they traded their own 2nd round pick in 2025 but hold the Panther's 2025 pick which could be at the top of round two. So even a second round pick would increase their ability to move in the first round next year if they desire.

This will be a completely different team next year IMO. It's why I posted what I did about Allar. I believe he could very well be on their radar. He's a fit for McVay's current offense and has the added benefit of not being immobile like Stafford though not a running QB.

Personally, I don't see it happening.
For one, it would be a 10mil in dead money,
in which it would bring us at a total of 40mil in dead money.
our cap space is between 2 to 3 mil,
with the 30 mil in dead money accounted for in our salary cap.
With that 10mil in dead money, would put us in a negative 7/mil.
So, I don't see this happening, just my take!!!

Highly unlikely we’ll ever see Kupp on the field again as a Ram. It looks like they’re ready and willing to trade him and by the way this FO loves to eat shit when they jettison their stars we’ll be lucky to get a 3rd while eating his 8mil cap $$. Even if they don’t trade him this week, they’ll put him in bubblewrap. Horse Latitudes. All cargo into the deep. Good luck Coop. We knew you well….

I can see it with Kupp. While he can still play at a high level you're not likely to get more than 10-12 games a season with him. I have to think that would give teams pause for giving up a 2nd round pick for him. I'm not sure they will get what they're asking for.

Stafford is a bit more iffy. The dead cap hit for him seems prohibitive. And I have doubts about the credibility of the guy who tweeted the Vikings trade possibility. I hear Florio talked about it with his show but he's a click bait whore. I wouldn't take that as meaning its more credible.

If we truly get a second round pick in return, I would be very sad to see Kupp go but would understand the reasoning. Anything below that though, I would be pretty disappointed. Maybe a high 3rd is tolerable but yea... :cry2:

Btw, I took a quick browse through the comments on the tweet. You can really tell the fans of all other teams would all love to have Kupp... Not one of them has said anything remotely negative in terms of having him on their team...

For better or for worse, the NFL fans really seem to appreciate Kupp, even at this stage of his career.
