That I notice JJ taking snaps at Center during OTA's

I feel this could be a better fit for both players, Avila back at LG and JJ at C.

Avila is a much bigger man that could anchor the LG, while JJ is slightly smaller,

and he would be best suited playing in the middle,

where he can be more of an assistant in the double team.

I think it is a good move.

MCV says Jonah at C is “a good possibility”. It ain’t gamesmanship if he’s getting all the reps at center, and apparently he is.

This first game is getting weirder by that day.

I don't consider bad timing,
As I stated, he was practicing in OTAs at center.

Plus, with the OL as of right now,
I think McVay wants a balance in the OL as far a strength.

NB/320, Avila/335 JJ/320, Dotson/330, McC/320
Putting Avila over at LG,
it would make the guards between the lighter in weight OL to balance it out.
Not having one side lesser in weight.
Plus, JJ is coming off an injury, I think playing Center would help him out,
because he will get help, or he would help one of the guards to double team a DT.

It sounds like part of it plan is also to be to have Limmer step at Center if needed with JJ injury history.

Just dont love all these changes with a week or so to the season starts.

I just hope our defense is as good or better then advertised.

How much experience does JJ have at center? Has he played the position before? Seems strange they'd have Avila at center most the camp and move him back to LG a week and half before the first game. Was there anything about Avila they didn't like? Or just an overall better fit for now?

According to McVay is more about JJ comfort at center. Also it think the Rams like their depth Limmer at center better than at guard in case something happened to JJ. I dont think its much to do about Avila other than he is a very good LG.

Apparently played some C in college and has been taking reps there earlier in camp (69’s observations I believe). He was injured the day I was at camp.

Jourdan mentioned since he came back from injury he has played there, she couldnt mention before with the competitive advantage stuff and what she can report.
