If the RAMs win the SB, then that 2025 2nd pick is more like a 3rd round pick.

And the Rams have another 3rd round comp coming next year for Raheem, but anyway you slice it, it's a lot.

Not saying it's a bad trade or anything like that but it's till a lot as far as that goes...

It's definitely a lot. Rams could have approximated the value giving this year's pick 83 but chose to give next year's 33-64. Maybe the Raheem supplemental figured in, maybe they're thinking this year's 3's are more valuable than next year's 2's.

Maybe, Carolina just did a good job of holdout and insisting on next year's 2nd, maybe because both teams had Intel that Fiske was close to coming off the board???

Anyway, both things are true, pissed at the compensation price but love the pick.

you have to figure,
Fiske & Verse played together,
that is gonna go well for them,
because they know each other's moves.

You'll have Turner and Young on one side, (Experience playing together for 1yr)
With Fiske and Verse on the other side. (Experience playing together for 1yr)

The RAMs are looking to make a SB run this year, and next year.

So as far as giving up 100 draft points,
it's well worth it. IMO

I don't think it matters.

As it stand they can do this forever. In 2025 they can trade a 2026 pick or picks for a 2025 second rounder. On unto infinity. That is, they're only short a 2025 pick if and when they decide to just not trade for a new one.

This year, the thing that mattered to them was trading up while keeping the 2 3rd rounders. That's what they need now, they figure, in a year after they stripped down the defense. If they want to take advantage of having Stafford while they still have him, they need defensive picks they like in 2024. It doesn't matter that it cost a 2025 pick when they can replace 2025 picks with 2026 picks when the time comes, if they want (and then 2026 picks with 2027 picks and so on).

Makes sense. And I'll also give the benefit of the doubt and say they scouted the '25 draft already. They valued this year's 3rd over next year's 2nd. That's fine. Love Fiske.

Isn’t really a lot to pay when you know other teams are trying to trade up for the same player. All about the market. A future 2 seems like a lot. But they have a number of opps to gain comp picks and they should be picking pretty low in each round 😎
