All the drama with Steelers wr Pickens making a “business decision “ and making zero effort to block for his teammate who could’ve scored, all I could think of was Kupp and Puka blocking linebackers and DE’s like they get paid extra.

PARAM wrote:Barry Sanders. You know the old saying "act like you been there before"? Well, be like Barry. But it's an entertainment business and some fans like that stuff. I don't mind celebrating the CCG or SB winning touchdown but anything before that is just a touchdown.

Speaking of Barry, he's in the booth right now at the USC/Louisville Holiday Bowl Game. Joel Klatt was talking about his 2628 yard rushing season in 1988.....in 11 games!!! He had another 263 in the bowl game that year for a whopping total of 2891. Almost 3,000 yards in 12 games!

Obviously, Barry had "been there before". :lol2:

My wife who is relatively new to the game said the same thing basically about the cellys. “Why do they do that for making a play? I get it if it’s the game winning TD or pick, etc. But for making a play? You’re paid a shit ton of $$ to do exactly that”

Barry set the bar for class and sportsmanship.

There's too much celebrating without getting to the end zone. I say what your wife says when a guy makes a tackle, gets up and runs 10 yards then does that stupid swipe across the chin. "Dude you just made a tackle! I get it, your happy because you finally didn't miss, like on those other 3!"

But like many fans, I'm biased. I love Kobie Turner's Conductor celebration. :oops2:

I do, too. It's different, it's unique. It's a little window into who Turner is.

On the other hand, there were no sack celebrations in the days of the Fearsome Foursome. Just get back up, maybe even help the QB back to his feet, and line up for the next sack. I loved that.

Sack dances are actually cool and some what more warranted - drive/game changing play) and, his is unique and more subdued. And quite cool!

Sacks are usually the result of an individual or at least the same defensive group of guys. TD catches are almost always a combination of so many players-- its pretty weird that some WR DIVA out like they made magic happen. Its the QB that sent you that ball. Probably any number of other players that allowed you to get to that spot and gave the QB the time to send you that ball. Not to mention your spot was called by the coach.

That being said, any player that can stand out statistically over the course of a league year, across a league of athletically gifted players. And as a rookie. Deserves any accolades that come his way. And I'm buying and wearing that jersey.

Add the Pepsi Rookie of the week for the 4th time this season. More than any other Rookie.
