Not quite a Superbowl caliber team but a good team nonetheless. Letting Goff walk and drafting his replacement is risky. You never know how long it will take for a young guy to develop into a good quarterback. It could set them back and maybe even ruin any chance of a Superbowl appearance if they draft the wrong guy. With Goff you know what you're getting. And he's certainly capable of winning enough games. Who knows, maybe he could pull a Flacco or Foles and get hot at the right time. by PARAM 1 year 7 months ago Total posts: 13223 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame The Clock Is Suddenly Ticking On Jared Goff (article) POST #12 snackdaddy wrote:The Lions have built a playoff team. Neither are Todd Gurley but both together are the equivalent. If they remain more healthy than Gurley that's a plus. He's got no Kupp but St. Brown, Williams, Josh Reynolds and Kalif Raymond are plenty. I don't know what Peoples-Jones will bring but that's not a bad receiving corp. LaPorta is already a better receiver than Higbee or Everett. Good enough for them to trade Hockenson. How good he is at blocking is unclear to me but I doubt he's on Higs level there. Lastly, he's got a good young OL. That group (WR, RB, OL, QB) should do well if they're together for the next 2 -3 years. It could be the only clock ticking for Goff is the one that asks, when will you get back to the SB? Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there.
