Rypien is one and done. I think he will end up on the practice squad.

That's not even a thing anymore. Goff won that one going away. Wentz is a footnote, an afterthought (though his talent is still far superior to Brett Rypien).

From the neck down, Wentz is superior to a lot of NFL QBs. The difference between franchise QBs and just good NFL QBs is from the neck up. That's where Wentz has fallen short in the past. Not knowing when to kill a play and live to play another down. Instead, a fumble, a pick or an injury.

Having said that, he is better than Rypien....certainly more experienced....so if we need him, at least he'll be able to make a lot of the throws.

Here's hoping we don't need him.

@Elvis....a third option..... if we have to play him it's a possible 2025 comp pick.

I don’t like the signing. You can still teach winning culture. Meaningless wins at the end of the season won’t help the draft.

Not just the Quarterback. This draft is loaded with elite talent in the top 5.

Well, this organization never ceases to amaze me.

At least he is a capable QB with experience. They should have done this at the beginning of the season.

So did they wave Ryipen so Wentz can have #11? :)

Cutting these two off the 53,

Most likely back into the PS.

Adding Wentz & most likely TE/Hunter Long off the 21 day window from the IR.

That should be a total of 53.

That's it for Winn, he was an emergency addition after all. Rypien i think back on PS but maybe Rams were as disgusted with his performance as we fans were.

Is this the end of the Myles Gaskin experience? They could sign him to the PS but he was on Vikings PS when this all started and with Akers going down, maybe he's needed/wanted there...

Or maybe neither...

It is completely the first option. McVay wasnt going to sit around and possibly watch Ryp f up more games if Stafford takes longer or gets hurt again. They should have signed Wentz to begin with, especially when Stetson went bye bye.

I'm not sure where you're coming from. There's no such thing as a meaningless win. They count as a win and the team builds on it.

Rooting for losses to upgrade the draft position never ends up well.

Every win counts towards the standings and helps build the team going forward.

I've never understood the belief that losing helps anything.

Stafford is the Man. He's taking a beating (Thumb, Hip, Ankle, ect...) and keeps getting up! There's no other option I would want for QB.

That being said, I wish they had a better plan "B".

Adding Wentz may seem like a week late but it shows the team wants to win.

I like that!
