Love that formula den.

You know even though the buffoons lost mucho cred with that snafu, you know that a presentation of some kind will have to occur at some point soon in order to divert attention away from what happened. That is assuming they actually haven't actually abandoned their 'sinking into the liquified toxic soil' ship.

A few things here...

First off, Vinny B said all this town meeting stuff is just noise. The bottom line is that Carson is a viable site and that's all that matters to the NFL. They think it can work, even if it take some extra time to get the remediation done, and its better than anything in SD or Oak right now.

It sure does look like the Carson boys are disorganized, though. They are helping to create all this "noise" that Vinny refers to. Policy is out there spouting superlatives about Carson on TV and radio. And then they have this dysfunctional town meeting where people are all confused about what is going to be shown and who is going to present. Maybe it does mean nothing to the NFL. But it can't help instill confidence in the Carson team.

Randy K has been tweeting that someone in the NFL told him the pendulum has swung back to STL. (whatever that means). And the PD folks are celebrating that it means the Rams are staying in STL. I don't know why no one is saying that all it means is STL has a good chance of getting another team when the Rams leave.

When you stand back and look at the big picture objectively, it will come down to what these 3 owners are willing to accept, not just what Spanos wants. The NFL isn't going to force Kroenke to stay in STL if he is dead set against it as many believe. And it's not about what the best location is; it's not a beauty contest either. The NFL thinks Carson can work and if Stan (for whatever reason) decides to stay in STL, the NFL is probably perfectly fine with Spanos and Davis in Carson. But if Kroenke is all in on LA, then he's going to LA and will just have to work things out with Spanos and Davis. There isn't an unbiased, knowledgeable and logical reporter out there that doesn't believe that. Even Vinny says it. And I do respect Vinny as being as unbiased as he can be while trying not to piss off anybody.

Some thoughts on the reporters...

As far as Florio goes, he has less information than us, but reports like he's an expert. He's practically useless.

I love Roggin, and he puts tons of info out there, but even I have to admit that he's not unbiased despite what he says. He has hitched his wagon to Inglewood and he wants to look right in the end; it's only natural that he would.

Jeanne Zalasko is all over the place. One day she says the Rams are announcing this week that they are moving to LA, and the next day she says the Chargers and Raiders are moving. Her statements are usually just off the cuff gossip sound bites that are instantly disposable. Take them all with a grain of salt.

My hats off to Nick Wagoner, he has said he thinks the Rams are moving to LA and has left it at that, while most other STL Rams reporters are unabashedly pro Rams are staying.

I do find it interesting that we haven't heard a lot out of Sam Farmer recently. He was the guy with all the history on the NFL to LA move. Why is he being relatively quite now?

And then there's another guy who I wonder about. His name is John Shaw. I have a sneaking suspicion that he is working behind the scenes in LA helping Kroenke to get his move done.

Anyone helping Kroenke is OK in my book,,, even Shaw. That would be beyond ironic.

You are likely correct Max with regard to the NFL perceiving it as a viable site. I for the life of my don't understand why until the mess is remediated. And that isn't a small task or a given. It borders ludicrous to me.

From your analysis we all better hope that Kroenke really want's LA then. I have always felt he did and certainly has the jack to make the others listen. An incredible stadium project too, although I still wish it was open air.

I still wonder why Carson is considered "better" than what is being offered in Oakland and San Diego? Both cities have sites proposed to keep their teams and get them a new stadium(that aren't toxic landfills) and to help pay for building those stadiums. How on Earth can that not be considered more favorably than up-rooting the league's alignment and balance?

It's silly that they try and make Roggin a scapegoat when the mayor they are doing business with in Carson invited Roggin to MC.

P.S. nice site and hello Max.

Nice to see your pancake! I'm glad you got the memo. You can speak your mind here.

None of what just happened in Carson makes any sense at all unless you just take it at face value that they are a rudderless ship sailing off into the sunset....

molker, I don't think it's because the stadium is better in Carson,,, it's that they want to make all their owners happy and Spanos doesn't like what San Diego is offering and Oakland is underfunded. What gets me is there considering rewarding the weak sisters and taking the longer and wrong path to do so.
as Max pointed out, if Kroenke is dead set on being in LA I don't see how they could force him to go back to St Louis now.

I appreciate the freedom to speak my true feelings on the subject here. I've been biting my tongue over on the ROD for about 3 months now.

I think we've been of a like mind on the whole, out of the blue, paper-thin, sham-marriage Carson project as a non-starter but even still, both Oakland and San Diego have made proposals and are willing to work something out with the Raiders and Chargers so I don't see how Davis and Smith have any right to force a move.

If they had the money and resources? Fine, more power to them. But they can't afford to do what they want to do. Why should anyone care or worse, be obligated to help?

I'm sure we have been molker.

I don't think anybody should other than their peers. and their peers are likely to do so because they are all one in the same. Every bit of logic, the poll findings, the project itself, the financial heft of our owner compared to the other participants and the simple fact that they played here for 50 years makes all of this a freakin no brainer..

At this point I would think they have to figure out how to unscrew the tangled web they wove to save everyone's credibility. That's another reason why Inglewood is the best option as they can let the Rams go get LA started and give the other two cities the chance to work it out and slowly back off of this madness. Or have someone join grams in Inglewood in a year or so.

it seems to me if Kroenke is going to spend the money to build it he should have the first crack at the city despite with Spanos would prefer. Oakland will have to wait their turn as would anyone who comes in lite.
