But the defense didn't get the bad guys off the field soon enough. Another game where TOP was 2 to 1..

Agree. It's almost as if McVay is coaching as if every single game is going to be a shootout, and he can't back away from this perceived challenge. Trouble is, we're giving up yards in gashes and the other team is controlling the tempo and the game. When we have the ball, we go 3 and out too much. It's all or nothing with McVay. How about running the ball, establishing control of the game and the tempo? I know he can do it, he just doesn't seem to adapt his thinking to in-game conditions. Just my opinion.

They had 4 drives of 56 yards or more. 17 points.
56 - punt
66 - FG
89 - TD
all in the first half
87 - TD

Their other 8 drives they gained 6, 3, 23 in the first half

In the second half -2, 16, 14, 13 and 31.

Outside of that 87 yard TD drive to start the half, our D gave up 72 yards on 5 other second half drives (giving up 3 points on 16 yds after our fumbled PR).

We punted 5 times and had 9 drives where we couldn't hold onto the ball for 2 minutes. To our credit, we scored 10 points on those 9 drives!!! But the reason the TOP was so lopsided wasn't because our D couldn't stop them, they did on 6 of their 7 drives after the first 28 minutes of the game, it was because our offense sucked, gave up the ball on a fumble and punting 5 times. 8 of our drives (that didn't produce points) were 5 plays, 2, 4, 3, 3, 3, 5 and 4 for a total of 13 minutes and 42 seconds gaining a total of 59 yards. That's 7.3 yards in 1:42 per drive. My fooking snow blower goes faster than that!!!

the packers started drives on the rams:

6 (stafford fumble)
27 (muffed punt)
29 (failed 4th down conversion)

they scored 13 pts off of these gifts.
they scored another 6 on a pick-6 gift.
for a total of 19 gifted pts.

outside of that the packers offense mustered just 17 points on their other 10 drives, drives in which santa wasn't handing out gifts.

Agreed that the gift points were horrendous. That TOP kept the ball from our 3 and out offense though. Hekker could have upped his distance averages if his leg didn't fall off 1st .. I jest..
