My Impressions - Based on Section 309

Getting To - Rideshare
Uber was a bit tricky since tons of streets surrounding SoFi are blocked off to limit traffic. We eventually told are guy just to let us off *here* and we walked the extra two blocks to the entrance.

Concessions
As mentioned, the concessions were nightmarish once the stadium began to fill. We missed an entire quarter making food/beverage runs. POS stations were at 50% staffing. I really hope that changes. On the upside, we found a bartender who'd never done it before, and her heavy hand exemplified it. She said she was there from a temp agency, if that gives you any indication of how dire the staffing sitch is there. The trash situation was weird too. It did not seem like they were encouraging anything other than leaving your trash at your seats.

Also, they really could use more monitor/screens once you get past the first line of concession stands.

WiFi
I was really disappointed in this. I know they had access points all over the place, but it still couldn't handle the load of the crowd. After the first 10 minutes, we couldn't even push a text through (no pics). No AT&T reception either.

Getting Out - Rideshare
Complete shitshow. The rideshare area is Kareem Court next to the Forum. While spending 15 minutes trying to get an Uber to connect (fail), only 4 cars came through. Easily 300 people waiting for cars and hardly any came. We gave up, walked down Prairie to Century and called an Uber from a hotel parking lot. Our Uber driver voiced his frustrations saying they weren't giving rideshare vehicles access to the rideshare area.

His Pro Tip: Walk to Manchester and call an Uber from there. Manchester is wide open and easy to get to.

Overall
I'd give it a C- rating. I told my wife that, if this is what we're to expect, I may sell some game tix. The highlight was running into @LARams_1963 and his lovely wife. Wasn't expecting that!

I received an email survey to fill out. It is a beefy one. Hope people take the time to answer. That is the best way they learn otherwise it is all antidotal.
I am a pretty easy person to please so guess I am blessed by that. I think things will get better. By the last season at the Coliseum it seemed everyone, staff and fans, had it down. Hope it won’t take they long but if this is the lowest point, I’m pretty happy!
I’ll take some more pictures and report next week with the RAYders

It was definitely awesome seeing you guys!! Just wish we could've spent some more time together! I have to agree with your overall assessment. I think the concessions issue is Covid/No workers issue. Time will tell. I forgot about the WiFi. I was commenting to Loree before entering the stadium how it was gonna be wifi heaven with all the state of the art stuff they were SUPPOSED to do. HUGE disappointment and like you we had trouble doing anything. It was actually better at the Coliseum!

Reading these comments, I'm struck with three thoughts:

1. Sounds like the staffing issue is a primary culprit.

2. There is also likely a growing pains/learning curve issue.

3. Maybe, just maybe, we've become a bit spoiled. I mean... if the 8 year old me, who attended his first NFL game at the old Orange Bowl, with its concrete bench/backless seats, trough-like communal urinals, and food menu consisting of 3-4 items (not to mention the lack of big screen replays, WiFi and other modern amenities) read these comments, he'd promptly climb up on a step stool and slap all of us!

You can look at some of my posts years ago and I agree. Most of the stuff is fluff to me anyway. I just need a place to sit to watch the game and I am happy. I normally eat and drink prior to coming to sports events. If it’s hot, I dress accordingly. If it’s cold I do the same.
But yes, the huge increase in the cost of tickets means we expect more as well. So I suppose for me, between paying a lot less and only having the basics vs paying more and being really nice, I’ll take the basics. And I know people will say it is the worst of both worlds now. It will get better. I am sure all the softer t departments are going over all their notes this week. Going to take time. Going to take getting more workers.

On a side note, I have only been to a half dozen stadiums. Is there a 60k+ stadium that handles traffic really well? I honestly don’t know. Dodger stadium is always hard to get out. Qualcomm was beast too and had the train. Angel stadium seems to work well but less people. Hockey and basketball are not the same as only 20k people.

And any new stadium hit it correct right away? Again I don’t know. I remember hearing a lot of complaints and still do about Levi.

Mobile ordering at Staples center is a dream. That’s not 60k I know, but Disneyland also shows that it works.

They already have the app (though not set up for mobile ordering food.). They need to get this done. I think worst case they can outsource it and have another website/app person deal with it. They just need to staff and run the kitchen to support all the cooking.

Based on food quality/type they’ve already thought of this — as all food I’ve seen are designed to minimize production and maximize delivery and preproduction. Btw, this means pizza will never get better (though they can increase topping quantity which will make ppl happier)

WOW guys, we had an awesome experience except for the shuttle not showing up, so we walked just over a mile--no biggie.
From there on it was a 12 on a 10 point scale.
1) Got into the stadium after about a 10 minute wait in line.
2) awesome, just awesome entrance and views immediately upon entering.
3) we could have been in our seats in the 347 section in less than 5 minutes, but wandered around for a bit
4) we paid $140 for our seats in that section--which had private access into it.
5) I was in section 347, Row 4, Seat 19. You want to get seats numbered from 1-5 OR about 15- 21 to be seated close to an aisle.
6) The snack bar was less than 100 ft away; the bar was @ 200 ft away and the bathrooms were about 300 ft. ALL were easily accessible; NO waits in bathroom; longest wait at bar or food was less than 5 minutes!
7) views and scoreboards were incredible.
Guys (AND Red Alice), I think there is a major upgrade in access and convenience for the $140 tickets vs. the $80 ones. I went with my lady's son-in-laws and we just guessed on what seats to buy. In all of our opinions, the extra $60 was well worth it for the super fast access to services. Granted, it did cost us more in booze :o The only f' up was the shuttle not showing up---walk was fine, and we had a truly memorable experience.
BTW--there was a helluva fight near one end zone and it took security about 5 minutes to get there. I'd bet that gets corrected in a week ;)

Give me a galvanized bucket to sit on, a bottle of water and a Rams game and I'm good.

It's the price of admission (and their sales pitch promises) that has everyone frazzled since it didn't live up. I'm sure the experience will improve as they iron out the wrinkles.
