C'mon off the ledge, good stuff is happening inside. (Also, pick an avatar when you get a chance...)

Vinny just said that it's expected that the LA Committee is going to recommend Rams and Chargers in Inglewood.

Iger could still come with, but he's not needed with Kroenke.

Come back inside off the ledge where its warm and cozy. We have the fire going for you. Just take a glass Scotch and watch all the fun unfold.

ugh, I want this instead of being at work.

The PD trolls are quoting a different "journalist" that has a source within the Chargers, saying the movement towards Rams/Chargers to Inglewood is crap

Yeah just had a handful of those sent my way on another board. Truthfully we won't know anything for about 24 hours at a minimum but this was the first quote from Spanos that wasn't 100% tied to Davis and Carson.

That video of him arriving at the hotel in Houston sees him as a bristly unhappy guy. He didn't look all that positive to my eyes..

last week a trio of san francisco bay area tv sportstalk hosts (csnba) weighed in, said l.a has, for decades, provided the nfl and team owners with a golden goose in terms of leverage, which has been used very successfully to pressure (force?) cities into ponying up for bigger and better stadiums or risk losing their team to los angeles... they argued that if 2 teams moved to l.a. that leverage would be lost, which the nfl clearly realizes and doesn't intend to let happen, despite outward appearances. however if only 1 team moved, the nfl could continue to maintain, and reap the benefits from, that leverage for years to come.

they concluded that the 1 team the nfl wants in l.a. is the rams, because of stan's grand plan and vast financial resources, which would guarantee the addition of another crown jewel, world-class stadium to the league's portfolio.... they also added that the rams were the most logical choice given they played in l.a. for close to 50 years before moving to st. louis, and that st. louis gave the rams (and league) an out by not abiding by lease terms.

said there was no way the league wanted davis in l.a., that he didn't have the money nor, they seemed to imply, the owner image the nfl wanted for the l.a. market... added that his relocation noise has simply been a leverage ploy which will pay off, he'll end up getting a much better sitch in oakland. they said that altho spanos seems to genuinely want to move, he ultimately just wants a first-rate stadium, and would stay in san diego if he got that, which is what the league would like to see in order to maintain l.a. leverage. the trio seemed to think this could happen if the league delayed his relocation request, which would pressure san diego into caving once the city watched the rams relocate.

anyway, made sense to me...
