Would you sign Colin Kaepernick?

Yes, if the coaching staff believed him to be the best available option to back-up Jared Goff.

Yes. It would make an important statement, even if his skill level is questionable at this point.

No. Even if he is arguably the best option, the attention/distraction he'd bring to the team would override the benefit.

No. Even if he is arguably the best option, I don't like him or his approach, and would not want him on my team.

No. I don't care about his politics or persona. I simply don't believe a QB who has been idle for years could succeed.

I wish there was an option for "No. He is a one trick pony that when neutralized, costs his team dearly." Lol I still remember the 4 INT in 5 attempts game. Lol He is a hell of an athlete. No one can argue that. But, I just don't think he is worth a damn when a defense contains him. I despise him just for being a 49er. Political shit aside...which I wouldn't want drug here, I just wouldn't want him. No thanks.

That said....he's still better than a lot of guys who are getting a shot.

Dick, your response was truly an epiphany for me. It really did strick me about kneeling before the flag. And yes, I did read about Nate Boyer reaching out to him, and he convinced Kaep to kneel, rather than sit, through the National Anthem.
ELVIS, please bring down my prior response on this post.
Thanks,
Safer

It's all good, just letting you and everyone know we have a more political thread to to talk about CK in if anyone wants too...

The kid doesn't want to play football.....

He had plenty of opportunities,,,

He turned down the 9ers contract,,,

He turned down coming in as a backup with Denver...

The NFL gave him a chance to show what he can do,,,

But he goes move the practice to some high school field,

to make some kind of politic point,,,,

If he was so dedicated as coming back into the NFL...

Like any other player in this league,,, show me what you can do...

work your way up again..... but he doesn't want that...

I wouldn't waist a dime on him.... He would just be trouble in the locker room...

No but hell no....

I don't know about trouble in the locker room. Unless its continually filled with press around him. But I do agree he isn't all that interested in playing. His actions show that. He will make a very nice living continuing to be an activist. And he won't put his body through years of abuse on the field. If he's got that competitive spirit most athletes have he can try golf. A little easier on the body. 8-)

I don't know what you'd call it but I can't believe the vote is in favor of bringing Kaepernick in. Not that he ever reached similar success but I equate it to hypothetically bringing Barry Bonds to the Dodgers. I would be 100 percent against that, just like I am with CK to the Rams. It just does not compute that Rams fans would be okay with him in...was going to say blue and gold but freakin' "bone" popped into my head.

I'm not a fan of Kaepernick's activism. I find it self-serving, of questionable sincerity, and often muddled.

But if the Rams needed someone to come in for Goff, I'd want the best guy. Not saying that's him, but if the Rams' coaches regarded him as the best option, I'd support the decision to sign him.
