I really don't know what to think. I thought this was a guy that McVay coveted? While on the one hand, you give them credit for moving on from a mistake but on the other hand, what does it mean that they were wrong about Watkins and Cooks?

Must be a done deal. ESPN has us listed in the 2nd round with the #52 and #57 picks.

Why are they "wrong"? They got Cooks for a first round pick and used him 2 years. He helped get them to the Superbowl. Now they want out under that contract.....that he earned....because of his head. Wrong? Fooking smart!!!!

Having Cooks as the home run hitter was great until we weren’t hitting many home runs. I’m not blaming anyone for that. It’s just the way it was.

I am happy to see that Snead and McVay can adjust and are not locked into the players they have given the circumstances. I would rather see a mini rebuild than a major one.

Seems pretty major. DC gone, many pieces from the offense and defense gone. O-line still a question mark. That is a ton of change heading into 2020.

A first round pick for 2 years of service is a net loss. That is very little return for that type of pick IMO.

Second, they paid him that huge contract and had to get out from under it. Thank heavens for the idiot O'Brien. But getting saved by a crazy coach doesn't erase paying out that huge contract in the first place.

I liked Cooks. Think this was a good move as he may be a concussion or two from retirement.

Dick84 wrote:Well.. they'd return 3wrs. Reynolds has played pretty extensively.
I also expect them to do a lot more 12 personnel.. and they return Oline guys, so that's not really change, but we have to hope they improve, for sure. McVay certainly sounded like he's expecting Havenstein to bounce back and seems to really like Corbett, Evans and Edwards as pieces.
I don't know what the line is but if they haven't crossed it, they are getting very close to being in rebuild mode.

A first round pick for 2 years of service and a 2nd round pick in return. That's fooking awesome IMHO. He deserved that huge contract. The guy had four straight 1,000 yard seasons, 29 TDs with 3 different teams until he got dinged last year. Whether they took advantage of O'Brien is irrelevant. They got it done = smart people.

I need help. Can someone do the math? (I don't know the answer)

What is the draft-point value that the Rams gave up to get Cooks vs the draft-point value that the Rams are now getting to get rid of him?
